Question about Philips 32PW6006 32" TV

Television reverting to standby

At switch on sound and picture appear for about 1 minute then TV reverts to standby. After five or six attempts TV will remain on with no further problems. Capacitor C2455 has been changed. I suspect the problem is related to the warm up time of the CRT. Any mods available?

Television has a mind of it's own. Sometimes it behaves as it should but too often it swiches on and off until it drives me crazy. I don't know whether to leave it alone to settle down whilst I go out or to keep switching it on and off myself to see if this cures it. I have tried switching it in and out of standby myself but this doesn't work either. It is turning into a very large ornament in my lounge! HELP!!!

Hi Phil.

Try adjusting A1 on loptx it is very critical & can cause the symptoms you are describing.

You could be right in saying the crt, Philips tubes are notorius for failing.

Im hoping your a tv tech if you are not DO Not do what I have written below tapping neck to hard can cause seriouse injury to your self.

Run set & tap the glass neck of crt if pic flickers or you see red blue or green flashing while tapping tube neck it will be the tube.

Let me know results there are a few things that can be done.

Why does the lg crt tv model 21fs9rg am working on keep reverting to stand by after i have switched it on?

Could be a bad remote. turn the TV on and then take the batteries out of the remote to see if it shuts off. If not, you know that the remote is bad or the batteries are low. I would suspect the power supply next.

Picture Mode reverts always to Dynamic after several minutes

The set was a store demo, and the options were set so they could not be adjusted. On instruction from Samsung I pressed MENU and VOLUME buttons on the side of the set and hold for 7 seconds The display reverts to Standard from Dynamic. The Remote Options button showed Store Demo, but now shows Standard. All memory functions seem to function now. Thanks for your help.

Very likely a power supply problem.
Most modern sets monitor power supply performance continuously and if a higher drain circuit is drawing excessive juice, they are designed to shut down to avoid burning down your house.
After all, no house, no new TV needed -

I would be sniffing around the top vents on the set to detect possible 'hot' odors coming from it.
