Question about Brookstone Outdoor Wireless Speaker Computer Speakers

The volume buttons dont work

Hi i have just brought a set of the brookstone wireless speakers from new york i quickly tested them in the shop as i was due to fly home to the uk the same day they seem to work fine . Now i am back in the uk and got my speakers all set up but there is only a little sound coming out and the volume buttons wont work on both of the speakers i have tried a number of diffrent sound devices but no joy please could you help me on this matter as its a long way to take them back to new york many thanks ashley

I think your wireless speaker is bad or had a factory suggestion is to return that speakers to the store if they warrant because they will replace it a new...

No sound or power


Before the setup of the speakers' channels
  • Press the SURR. button on the remote to select multichannel surround mode before adjusting the speaker settings.
  • In case of sound distortion, press and hold the SOUND button to select another transmission channel for the wireless rear speakers.
Setting Speakers' Channels
  1. Press 060227073157_11231.jpg to stop playback, then press SYSTEM MENU.
  2. Press 060227073234_11234.jpg repeatedly to select { Audio Setup Page }.
  3. Press 060227073211_11232.jpg060227073221_11233.jpg to highlight { Speaker Setup Page }, then press 060227073234_11234.jpg.

  4. Enter its submenu by pressing 060227073234_11234.jpg.
  5. Press 060227073211_11232.jpg060227073221_11233.jpg to highlight one of the options below at a time, then press 060227073234_11234.jpg.

    • { Speakers Volume } – Volume level setting for individual speakers (-6dB – +6dB).

    • { Speakers Delay } – Delay times setting in relation to the listening position/ distance for centre and surround speakers.

  6. Press 060227073245_11235.jpg060227073234_11234.jpg to adjust to the setting that best suit your surround sound needs.
  7. Press OK to confirm.
  • 1 ms increase/decrease of delay time is equivalent to 30 cm change in distance. Use the longer delay time settings when the rear speakers are closer to the listener than the front speakers.
  • The test tone will automatically be generated to help you judge the sound level of each speaker.

My quick play buttons do not function properly ! example - The mute, volume, wireless, skip track play/pause and stop buttons do not work at all ! I tried installing an update but then my music didnt...

HP Pavilion DV6-1359WM, has a volume control touch pad area located at the top. It's not a driver issue or a setting. This is how you fix it. It worked for me and for some other people....

1. Shut down your laptop.
2. Unplug the power.
3. Remove the battery.
4. Push and hold down the power button for 30 seconds.
5. Reinstall the battery.
6. Plug power back in.
7. Boot

When TV off and switch on the volume button goes to 250

they are right, it should have a reset option. You might want to check that the volume button in the set is not stuck in anyway. shy of that, turn the speakers off in the audio options in the set and use external speakers.

I live in canada and have a wireless modem and now in the us of a, and when i skype my buddy , he can hear me but i dont hear him and my headphones work fine, please help

Set up Audio

Laptop x webcam/mic x Vista x Skype
If you have an older OS you may have to access your hardware from the control panel

Right click on speaker icon in System Tray
Select "Playback Devices"
The speaker icon ( checked as working) and volume level graph should be visible
Right click on the volume graph and click "Test"
Left hand speakers followed by right hand should be heard

Click "Recording" tab.
Set required mic as default - click on mic font to highlight and click "Properties"
In lower dropbox display "Use this device enable" click OK
Click "Levels" tab and ramp up sliders ( adjust to suit later)
Return to "Recording". Test mic by speaking and make sure volume graph displays

Restart computer


Open Skype > Tools > Audio set up - run through defaults etc > Save
Make a test call from the inbox 'Echo/sound' test call

the audio IC or audio transistor needs to be replace have a tech do the job.or start to shop for a new advice is to buy a new one it will be pretty expensive to repair if the set does not want to spin the cd you also have problem in the power supply.good luck

its probably the interference with the routers. try getting internet by bypassing the router. much easier sound quality.
