Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
We have a fairly new projector- a Sharp multimedia projector, model xr-20x, that won't start up. We've gone through all the troubleshooting in its manual and it still won't start. The only clues that we've got to why it stopped working was, two children confessed to mashing buttons and playing with the lenses. They say, however, that it wasn't plugged in.
We don't understand why it's doing this. We don't believe it's been dropped, and it appears to be just fine- minus, of course, the fact that we can't get it to start. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
I have a xr10x same setup allaround the problem lies in the bulb it needs a warmer temprature for the gas to expand in the bulb to fire and light up... hold a hair dryer up to the side of it fo a while and then fire it up still holding the haidryer up to it till it starts it may take a couple tries... ( this is a fix if your having a no buld startup problem and you know your bulb is still good) THIS IS THE FIX IF**** the lights will blink green for a while then one red and one green then will s(hut off at both red) and not restart***
i had the same problem and thought id have to get a new buld but this is the fix....

Check fan filter safety switch
is fan grill/cover fully home
is lamphouse door safety switch 'made'
try putting slight pressure on lamphouse cover /filter cover to see
if this lets you start up the pj

To all users of sharp pg-mx20 that have just a red power light flashing. I was at my end and called sharp - their solution was $50 evaluation - the $150 labor charge - plus parts plus $40 to ship back and probably 6 weeks like somebody else here stated. then i read the posting above and clued into the safety lock on the lamp door. my unit started showing a flashing lamp indicator the finally shut down. i took it off the ceiling mount and brought it into the office. i switched out to my backup lamp but realized that i never had reset the lamp hour counter when i changed lamps. after reading some of the posts here, it appears the unit shuts down at 2000 hrs regardless, and when i changed lamps, i never reset the counter. but the counter reset wouldn't work (until i replaced the lamp door). Once i put the lamp door back on - the reset worked and now i'm back in business. wish the sharp tech told me that before giving me all the return info and costs! good lick to all sith same problem
