Hello,
Install the TIConnect software on the computer.
Execute TIconnect. Connect the calculator to the computer through the USB cable or the TI Silvercable. Turn calculator ON.
In TiConnect main window, click the icon TIDeviceInfo. A small window opens. If the result is NOT FOUND, click on communication settings. Select the devive :Ti 84 Plus SE
Select cable type : USB or TISilverCable,
Select Port : Should be USB1
Click OK

If that does not work, try calc-to-calc connection with a working calculator.

Hope it helps.

Hi, I have a problem with ti-nspire cx cas, it doesn't charge via a usb cable.

Are you really talking about a TINspire CX or a TI NSpire. The TINspire CX (CAS or Not) comes with a rechargeable battery and an adapter/Charger. You plug the charger in an electric outlet and let it party charge. If the calculator battery fails to recharge then it must be defective. Any third party mini USB charger will recharge the battery.

The TINspire with touchpad (CAS or not) can use regular batteries or the optional rechargeable battery.
It is not necessary to connect the calculator to a computer to have it recharged.

As far as the calculator being recognized by the computer, you must install the communication software (TI computer Link Software for the older TINspire) or the TI Nspire teacher or student software for the CX. When you run the TINspire teacher or student software and then connect the calculator, you will have the opportunity to select it.

Doesn't start anymore

TI calculators have an annoying habit of dimming the screen when the batteries are changed so that it appears as if the calculator isn't turning on. Turn the calculator on (or at least press the ON key). Press and release the 2ND key. Press and hold the Up-arrow key for a few seconds and see whether the screen becomes legible. If this doesn't do it please reply to this post and we'll go on from there.

Cpt button 12c calculator

Unlike TI calculators, the HP 12c doesn't have or need a CPT button. It knows whether you've made a numeric entry or not. To calculate N, I, PV, FV, or PMT, simply press the appropriate key without entering a number.

My calculator casio fx-350ES doesn't have equation.why? or this calculator doesn't have software equation.why?

Not all calculators have that. The Fx115ES and the FX991 ES have a lot more options thatn the FX300Es and FX350ES. I believe you only have COMP (general computational mode), Table and STAT.
Why? It was not designed that way.

My calculator was left outside in the rain and doesn't turn on. I'm not exactly sure what's wrong with it specifically. It just doesn't operate.

The CPU of your calculator most likely got wet and rusted up the parts. If not, the screen may have gotten water damage. Either way, it will no longer work and you will have to buy a new one.

My TI-84 calculator isn't working. When I press the "ON" button, sometimes it would respond, but most of the time it doesn't. The screen just remains blank. I've changed my batteries...

try taking out the triple A batteries and leaving the calculator to sit with them out for a minute or so, replace them and check if it's fixed. If that doesn't work you can do the same, but take out the small button back up battery as well. If you're still not having luck you should call ti cares (800-842-2737) they're usually helpful.

"ON" button doesn't work; calculator won't

Hi,

In most cases this cannot be economically repaired... the cost to repair would be more then the calculator is worth...

Hi there, I have a Casio fx-991ES, and my calculator doesn't seem to be converting decimals in surd form... i.e. 0.3354101966 was the last number I typed in that didn't work... That, in surd...

The calculator can't identify that this is a surd unless you input it as a surd, ie as 3/(4*sqrt(5))= when it will then show the equivalent form 3*sqrt(5)/20 (obtained by multiplying top and bottom by sqrt(5)) and you can swap between the two forms using the S<>D button. Even adding the next 4 decimal places (hidden) won't allow the calculator to identify the underlying surd as this is simply too complcated a calculation.

I have a TI84 plus texas instruments i have removed both the batteries in order to reset the unit but it still has not resetted the unit. All I am getting all zeros on the screen

First try removing all four AAA batteries and the small lithium backup battery (above the four AAA batteries). Leave all batteries out for five minutes, then replace them and try to start the calculator. If this doesn't work...

Replace all but 1 AAA battery. Press and hold the "CLEAR" button on the calculator. While holding the "CLEAR" button down, replace the missing AAA battery. While still holding the "CLEAR" button, turn the calculator on. The display should read "RAM Cleared". Release the "CLEAR" button and press again to remove the message.

If that doesn't work, remove 1 AAA battery again. Repeat the preceding instructions with the "DEL" key: With the battery removed, press and hold the "DEL" key. With the "DEL" key held down, replace the battery and turn the calculator on. The screen should say "Waiting... Please install calculator software now." Release the "DEL" key. Download this program onto your computer (from Texas Instruments). Connect the calculator to the computer using the USB cable provided with purchase. Run the TI OSDownloader program and follow the on-screen instructions to re-install the calculator's operating system.
