Toshiba Satellite A60 wont power up

This is the same problem: I plug the power adapter into the laptop, the battery light is amber, then after 3 hours it glows green indicating the batter is fully charged. No other lights are on. I press the power button and it will not power up; it only blinks blue for a fraction of a second every time is press it. Holding down the power button doesn't power it up; it just blinks blue every couple seconds.

I just got a brand new Satellite Toshiba touch screen laptop yesterday for chritmas and its plugged in and charged over night but wont turn on unless its plugged in. Is this temporary? or is something

As long as the charge is not complete the battery LED remains amber.
Give the laptop the time to charge: it should take 3 to 4 hours it it is not being used, and 3 times longer if it is used.
You do not need to register immediately with Toshiba.

Toshiba wont power on

Remove the main battery and try again, if no change! sub out the ram memory one at a time and power on each time. If still no result! the onlything left is the motherboard with major issues.

Try replacing/removing battery in the laptop see if will turn on then. Also maybe your power board needs replace. then i would try a new motherboard.

My toshiba spm30 will not turn on at all, it has a orange flashing light next to the plug symbol, any ideas?

There could e a problem with the battery. A fast check to determine whether you have a problem with the power adapter, power cord or the laptop's battery is to turn off the laptop, remove the battery, connect the power adapter, turn on the laptop & see if it works.
If the laptop works directly from the power adapter with the battery removed, then the power adapter is good. In this case we can suspect that the battery is defective & needs to be replaced.

Try also to reseat the main components of the notebook: the battery, the AC adapter, the memory modules, & the hard drive.
After that try switching it on & see if the problem was fixed.

No power to Toshiba A60

Make sure the laptop is off, pull the battery, and just power it up with the AC adapter. Once you get it going, head over to the control panel, and check the settings in power management. It could be that the settings are wrong and it will not let you start it up with the battery installed.

Toshiba Satellite Laptop Power Failure (A105-S1013 System Unit)

How handy are you with a digital multimeter? If the laptop is still disassembled, find the solder connections on the motherboard where the mini power cable enters the board from the jack. Plug the AC adapter in. Check to make sure you have the proper DC voltage at those points (should be about 19V, although the AC adapter should say what it's DC output is).

If you don't get any DC voltage (or too low), check the DC plug of the AC adapter. The inside of the plug should be + and the outside should be -. If you are getting voltage there, but not the motherboard, chances are it's the jack or the mini power cable on the motherboard. These can be replaced, it just depends on how confident you are about doing it yourself :).
