Question about Canon PowerShot S1 IS Digital Camera

I have a Powershot S1 Is Camera and the lenses is distorted and can't see it.

Do you mean camera does not show live image to take pictures and it shows previously taken picture properly in playback?
If thats true, then it is most likely bad ccd imager that needs to be replaced.

Problem: dust in the gaps near lens which makes it jammed. Effect: the sceen shows blk color. Solution: just blow over it or vaccum it.

The CCD is faulty - it has to be changed. Contact your local Canon service center.

This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free, including free shipping both ways. This is regardless of your camera's warranty status. Blurred and distorted view of the subject


Its possible that there is a CCD issue with your camera. I've been reading more and more people are having CCD issues with the S1-IS. The CCD is the part of the camera that captures the image, and usually they distort or do some funky things with the pictures. Its entirely possible they would knock something out of focus.

Defective ccd imager!! company will replace this ccd imager free of charge. Year 2002 up to 2005 released unit has a factory defect ccd imager. the company recalled those units and replaced with a stronger version of ccd imager ( they are still doing it). check it out.
