LCD WAS WORKING BUT WHEN I RE-CONNECTED THE CONNECTOR IT WILL NOT BACK ON

I have a Casio Exilim EX-Z60. The LCD worked fine but the lens would not extend. I replaced the lens with a working lens unit, re-connected both connectors however now the LCD will not come on. Is there something I have done in the process that would cause that? Thanks Gerald

I am having problems with the LCD on some Casio Exilim EX-Z60 & Z75's I'm trying to repair. The LCD works fine before disconnecting the connectors to replace the lens unit. When I re-connect the connectors the LCD will not come on. Can you help me? Thanks

The answer I got from FixYa after paying $9.99 is a reference to repair and user manuals. This is not what I needed. I thought you would research the problem and give me some options.

Make sure ribbon cables for lcd are seated properly.also sometimes these lcds have a seperate small ribbon cable for lcd backlight ,make sure its connected.if lcd only uses one ribbon for both .look behind the lcd and locate the backlight wires and make sure they did not unsolder or disconnected..if ribbons are not aligned or striaght into connector it will not work.hope this helps

SOURCE: Casio EXILIM ZOOM EX-Z60... Problem

The power leads that are soldered from the main circuit board to the LCD are near the lens assembly ( about 7 o'clock). Did you break one of these? If so, it will need to be resoldered.

Casio EXILIM camera lens will not extend fully!!!

Try plugging the PC interface cord into the external connector. No need to hook it up to your computer, just plug it in and out a few times. Then try to power up the camera.
Good luck.

"lens error" will only be fixed by sending into repairs. 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2. Tell them you have a lens error and they will tell you where to send it.

Not real sure on that one. Sorry. You can check the casio.com website and see if they are the same size. If they are they might be interchangeable.

Lens error

This is the lens focus gears. They are either knocked out of alignment, or debris has jammed them. The good news is it can be fixed....Casio most likely won't help. Hint...google my user name.

No there isn't. It should automatically come on. Usually when I have heard of that it is right before the LCD goes out for good. Call repairs at 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 2 and they will tell you where to send it.

the same thing happened to me. I took my camera apart - just removing the case. I then operated my camera and it became "unstuck". now it works just fine. I put the case back on and all is just as before.
