My sons ds lite will not turn on the green light comes on and a white light flickers on bottom screen and thats all, I changed the battery and still no luck. Help! thanks

it's likely that the top screen ribbon cable has either become damaged or loose, the entire top screen will probably need replacing (along with the casing if the hinge is broken).. if you are not confident with technical or fiddley things I wouldnt recommend attempting it yourself.

Nintendo DS lite bottom screen is white.

Sounds like the screen is broke. Before you change the screen you may want to have a look at where the LCD ribbon connects to the motherboard it may be loose. It would be worth while opening the DS and disconnecting and then reconnecting this ribbon to see if it solves the problem before ordering a new ds screen.

Turns on and lights up but no images on top screen

The DS top screen has two components, which are the LCD display, and the backlight. If the LCD display has gone bad but the backlight still works and the connecter is seated properly, the DS will still power on and the lower screen will be normal, and the top screen will light, but it won’t display anything.

You didn’t mention if your DS is the original DS or the DS Lite. Replacement top screens for the DS Lite are cheap on eBay, but installing the screen is a bit complex. The screen for the original DS is a different part and they are more expensive and hard to find.

I’ve never worked on an original DS, so I can only tell you about installing the top screen on a DS Lite.

First, the DS Lite has to be just about completely disassembled. You have to completely remove the top and bottom cases, pull out the microphone and wi-fi cables, and release the connecter for the top screen, which is located on the main board in the lower case. You’ll need the tri-wing screwdriver. You can leave the bottom screen/touch screen assembly attached to the main board, but be careful not to pull or tear the flex cables. Check YouTube for videos on disassembling the DS Lite.

Here’s the deal breaker for most people: The speakers are soldered to the flex cable of the top screen. I’ve never seen a replacement sold with speakers. You’ll have to unsolder your speaker wires from the old screen cable and reconnect them to the new one. If you can’t solder, you could take the screens to a local tv/electronics repair shop and pay to have it done. I got this information for you from http://wiinewz.com/forums/nds-general-discussion/72805-ds-top-screen-white-blank.html this appears to be a common problem I hope this helps

My sons ds lite won't turn on - the screen flashes

hey there Mike to me it sounds like one of the ribbons inside became loose or there is a blown fuse in your unit both are fixable you can check the ribbons and also the fuse can be bridged as well if your unit is under warrenty please contact nintendo about this and get a RMA for the unit if it is not under warrenty then there is two solutions to this either get a repair tech to look at it "can be found in the fixya repair directory" or we can work it out together if you need to know the steps required to fix the unit.

Nintendo DS lite - dropped

Might be worth taking it into a phone repair shop to see if they can replace the LCD screen. (yes, a phone repair shop - a lot of them do portable console screens too!) If they can't do it, it's probably unfixable realistically.

Dim bottom screen on DS Lite

There should be either a button or a setting to adjust the lighting, try doing that.
