I have a Model VR5940 Recorder. I'm trying to use

I have a Model VR5940 Go DVD Recorder+VCR. I'm trying to use it with my DIRECTV satellite system. Will this recorder work with the new Digital HD TV broadcast system?
If so is the satellite input from the dish first connected to this recorder or to the output from the sattelite amplifier?

The easiest way to do this is to disconnect the line from the TV Antennea and reconnect it to the VCR/DVD Antennea input and then connect the VCR/DVD output to the TV. This configuration should work.

Disc unknown

Not all media discs are playable in all machines. Not all formats are supported in all machines.Coppied and Bootleg discs will not play on expensive players.Dirty, figerprints, badly scratched, all will have problems.Use a disc cleaner (liquid, and fine cloth) to remove scratches.Buy a $ 25-35 cheap player they play anything.Good Luck.

There has got to be a way

I have this model..was trying to hook it up to a directv hughes receiver. After a day of trying and many curse words I found that using this hookup works . Hook up your satellite connection to you tv as usual...Now plug rca cables(red, yellow white) into the corresponding holes on the BACK of the Directv receiver ..now plug the rca cables into the FRONT of the Magnavox player...you will only use find holes for the white and yellow(that's ok) Now hook up up the dvd player to the tv using the rca connection back of dvd/vcr player..or if your tv only has a coax connection you will need a rf modulator available at walmart etc. You will run the dvd/vcr on L2. The key is the connections to the FRONT of the dvd/vcr player..I hope this helps..:)

I can't get the JVC system hooked up with my DirecTV Satellite system where I can use it with my TV and VCR/DVD I tried everything in the manuel please help thank you

You need to plug all the audio "out" of the individual units to the audio "in" on the theater system and change the function/unit switch to the unit you want to listen to. If hooked up this way the theateer system has to be on to get any sound no sound will come from the tv. The easiest way is connect everything to the tv, and if the tv has an audio output jack, plug that into one of the inputs on the theater system. Connected this way anything that comes out of the tv goes into the theater system and you can still get sound from the tv at all times.

Go video #VR5940 DVD Recoder + VCR

It is actually a menu setting that is intended to allow you to leave for a short time (like to go to the grocery store), and view the remainder of a movie without having to find where you left off.

With your remote control, enter the menu and look for a setting related to "Remember Last Position".

(I would be more specific, but the company's website has been taken down and there is nowhere to research the exact wording from the menu)

Don't know your machine, but is it possible that it's seeing your source tape as write protected (missing tab) and so assuming it should not be copied to the DVD?
