Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. To resolve the issue you need to check the following things. Please disconnect the power before you start the procedure. Replace all panels before operating.

The Locked/Unlocked switch allows AC voltage to be sent to the motor through the ice dispenser lever switch when it is in the unlocked position. If the Unlocked switch is defective, the dispenser lever will not operate the motor. To check the switch: Check pins BU/BK and GY using an AC voltmeter. The meter should read 115 VAC if the switch is open, (Locked), or 0 VAC if the switch is closed (Unlocked). Disconnect the BU/BK and GY wires from the Lock/Unlocked switch terminals. Check the switch continuity with an ohmmeter. The continuity should change when the switch is changed from Locked to Unlocked.

To check to make sure that DC voltage is being supplied to the switch pack: Press the Unlocked button. Touch the DC voltmeter’s black test lead to PK/BK and the red test lead to OR/BU, then press the ice dispenser lever. The meter should read +115 VDC ±10%.

To check the Crushed and Cube ice switches: Press the Unlocked and the Crushed buttons on the ice and water dispenser front panel. Touch the DC voltmeter’s black test lead to BR/WH and the red test lead to RD/WH, then press the ice dispenser lever. The meter should read +115 VDC ±10%. Press the Unlocked and the Cube buttons on the ice and water dispenser front panel.

Touch the DC voltmeter’s black test lead to RD/WH and the red test lead to BR/WH, then press the ice dispenser lever. The meter should read +115 VDC ±10%.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

Why does ice dispenser stick?

I dont know what brand you have. But there is a springlever to return the lever to closed posision. Eather the return spring/mechanism is broken. Or has become loose from the fastnerclips holding it in place. I have also seen that ice is the reason for this. Iceing around the very top of the lever.

The ice dispenser is not working

If your design is the conventional with a catch bucket and auger it is likely that the output has frozen and is prohibiting the cubes to enter the shoot. Remove the bucket and discard the ice. Inspect the shoot in the door and clear any ice built up. Check that the catch bucket auger is free to turn and no built up ice in the output side that lines up with the shoot.

If the door to the shoot located in the freezer door fails to close completely then frost and ice will continue to build up in the shoot.

Cycle by hand a few times to ensure that the door will close. Also when dispensing ice ensure that the arm that contacts the glass has returned to the front position ensuring that the door is closed.

Wait for a new tray of ice. It will take a minute or two for the ice to find its way to the glass from a completely emptied bucket and shoot.

Hope this has helped?

Out loading auger problems

if by this your saying that the ice dispenser auger has a problem ?

a few things to look at on a ice dispenser
1st remove ice bucket with auger completely out of fridge
look at back of fridge is there a build up of ice there ? if so you may have a leaking water valve for ice maker
carefully inspect the back of ice bucket to see that drive catch is not broken or missing parts
2nd verify that the door to side that contains the dispenser is all the way shut , sometimes ice build up keeps door from closing all the way to allow door switch to say ( door closed safe to dispense ice) this switch is not allways at top or bottom of door but maybe in the middle too
and last but not least , make sure all switches and childlock outs are set correct to working positions and that glass sensors detect the glass in its place

Why won't ice dispense from ice maker?

Pull out the ice storage bin from the refrigerator. Empty the bin if it is full. Add some ice into the bin. Reinstall bin into refrigerator. Make sure the refrigerator door(s) are closed. The ice will not dispense if the door(s) are open. Press the ice dispenser with a glass underneath it to start dispensing ice. Listen for a whirring sound. If there is a sound, then the auger that moves the ice cubes is working. Check the ice shoot in the door to see if it is blocked with ice. If you don't here any whirring sound the motor that runs the auger is probably bad. Then you will have to replace the whole ice maker assembly.

Water dispenser is not working

Does it make ice? If it makes Ice, then you have water to unit. If No Ice and No Water, check water supply. Otherwise, you could have a bad water valve. Remove valve and the line coming off of valve to water reservoir try to dispense water and if valve is good you should have water coming from valve. (have a bucket or bowl handy to catch water).

Ice and Water not dispensing. Light button not working

INSIDE THE DISPENSER ASSEMBLY IS A SEPARATE ELECTRONIC BOARD THAT CONTROLS THE DISPENSER.
OCCASIONALLY, THE DOOR SOLENOID OR THE CUBE ICE SOLENOID WILL SHORT OUT CAUSING A BURNOUT OF THE DISPENSER CONTROL BOARD. CHECK FOR A BURNT SMELL COMING FROM THE DISPENSER HOUSING. IF YOU SMELL IT, THE BOARD AND/OR SOLENOID NEED TO BE REPLACED.
