Check Belts as well as the shear pins in your pulleys .if the pulley turns but does not drive I suspect a shear pin has sheared off and needs replacing. The shear pin is inside the pulley and you need to remove the pulley to get to the pin.

Was cutting and stop moving forward and back wards belt in good condition

Could have broken the shear pin in the drive pulley. If one of the pulleys turns when you put it in gear but the other pulley does not turn then the shear pin is broken or missing.

I stalled the engine by grabbing on to a tarp. Now it will not start

I would assume the mower deck was engaged, check the shear half moon key in the shaft and flywheel. they are made to shear to prevent engine damage. other than that, check all the safty switches that keep the mower from starting unless they are engaged.

Or some lawn mower have 2 belts , one for reverse and one for forward . Contact me with you model Number off the tractor and the motor ; I can see if I can help find the fix for it . I work on small engines and without having a little more information . I can give you an idea to try , but with the numbers I can do more research and hopefully find the fix .

My mower sometimes starts but runs very rough and other times will not start at all

Sounds like you may have hit a rock or log which shears the pin on the crankshaft to save the engine. It's a simple job to check the crank shear pin and see if it sheared and its a simple job to replace it. Youtube videos should show the process.

Drive wheels dont seem to propel mower

SOME SELF PROPELLED MOWERS HAVE A SHEAR PIN IN THE DRIVE BOX THAT MAY HAVE SHEARED . IF THE MOWER GETS A LOT OF USE THIS PIN CAN SHEAR. ALSO SOME HAVE A FRICTION DISC, LIKE A CLUTCH THAT MAY BE SLIPPING. CHECK THESE TWO THINGS CAN'T TELL MUCH MORE WITHOUT A MAKE AND MODEL

My mower isn't running right. I doesn't have much power. It back fires & it uses a lot of gas. It sound loud like something is wrong with the muffer but I checked it and it seem to be ok. I have a Troy...

It sounds like your timing's off. Take the sheetmetal cowl off and remove the flywheel on top. Check your shear pin and replace if necessary. It sounds like there is some offset there. The shear pin should get you back running right. Best regards, --W/D-- please feel free to rate this solution! Thanx!
