Start the computer and press the F10 or F8 button before the windows screen opens. Select repair startup and let teh system try to self repair if you have vista. If you have XP, then insert the installation CD and boot from teh CD and select repair. After doing either of these if the device is still not present the best action I can think of would be an OS overright if you have XP. That is where you re-install XP and SP1 and SP2 over your current XP installation in the same Directory. This will save any programs you have installed and your personal work. You could try disconnecting the device and starting the computer in safe mode and then remove the device in safe mode if it appears and then restart the computer. After the computer successfully starts, turn it off again and then connect the device and reboot and go through normal installation of the device.

Tun miniport adapter#2

Hi, it sounds like you have to install the proper drivers. Once you do that the flag should go away and the adapter will work.

Device manager problem!

It sounds like Windows is not recognizing the digital signature of the drivers. If they are the current Dell drivers, you can simply ignore the flags.
If you are bothered by them, you can try removing the device from the D.M. and re-installing to try to resetting the digital signatures. (this may not remove the flags)

Microsoft ISATAP adapter #2

.
Disconnect your device and any other external devices.
Re-boot the machine in safe mode and check the device manager for flags.
If you see other devices or flags, red or yellow, remove them.
Re-boot the 6000 and allow unit to run a normal boot.
Check device manager again for flags.
If you are running VISTA, type msconfig at search and in center of page, look for add or remove programs. Highlight and hit the lunch button.
Find your TV tuner program and remove it.
Close out the utility and reboot the system.
Check your device manager again for flags.
If OK re-install hardware and drivers.
Reload the program. If you still have problems, check microsoft for updates under drivers

In device manager Network Adaptor has yellow exclamation mark. "Windows cannot load the driver required for this device." My HP Pavillion laptop is under guarantee - was purchased Feb.2008.

Completely remove the LAN adapter and disable "Plug 'n Play OS" in the BIOS, as follows:
1) Remove the card from Device Manager, under Network Adapter
2) Delete C:\WINDOWS\INF\DRVDATA.BIN
3) Delete C:\WINDOWS\INF\DRVIDX.BIN
4) Delete the following files. Not all of them may exist.
  • C:\WINDOWS\INF\NET82557.INF
  • C:\WINDPWS\INF\NET559A9X.INF
  • C:\WINDOWS\INF\NET5579X.INF
5) Shutdown and restart the PC, and enter BIOS setup.
6) Find the option for Plug and Play BIOS, and disable it.**
7) Restart Microsoft Windows* 95 and use the Intel® installation diskette to reinstall the adapter.

General Networking question

lets see here, your NVIDIA thing is for your ethernet port in your computer.

the wireless PCI adapter, is well, a wireless adapter, its used to connect your wireless, and a 1394 Net Adaptor Connection is basically Win2k/XP's way of telling you that you have a Firewire interface installed in your system.

so, if your going wireless, you dont need NVIDIA, and as your device manager shows that it has a red x on it, it shows that its disabled. as for everything else, i wouldent worry about it.
