Most likely it has seized due to lack of regular oiling. The issue will begin with one problem but over time will eventually develop in other areas, ie the feed dogs, other selectors, the needle bar, etc.

Wheel on right side that controls the needle up and down is very tight...

My Kenmore sewing machine model 3********** has started to not pick up the bobbin thread. The needle makes stitches but, of course, they come out.

sounds like it might be a little out of time . take it to a repair shop and let them service it .

However, I know of no "string" associated with a stitch selector on any machine, so I'm wondering if you might need a pro to help...

Feeder dogs will not feed fabric at all.

it's possible that the feed dogs need a adjustment or they need to be
timed by a sewing machine repair technican

Serger won't chain off a stitch. Stitches won't chain and hold to fabric. Added new needle, rethreaded whole machine. Stitches won't connect to fabric or make a chain.

is it possible that the needles are in backwards?
it's very possible that the machine is out of time & would have to be taken to a sewing machine repair shop to be retimed

My Kenmore machine sews a straight stitch fine for about 10 stitches then it makes a knocking noise and leaves additional bobbin thread in the underneath stitch. Also, the zigzag stitch zigzags for about 4...

timing issue, needs to be serviced and re timed.

Machine sews only in reverse

Be sure you are in the correct stitch pattern...if you are on a buttonhole stitch or a stretch stitch it normal for the machine to sew backwards. Be sure your length is to the right of 0 and not in a strtch stitch model or buttonhole mode.

Kenmore 385 series top load bobbin, I try to move the needle back using the button on the side of the machine and it gets stopped. Seems the foot dog is hitting the bobbin case. Any suggestions?

kenmore 117 clutch mechanism diagram I have a 117.552 that was frozen and now has most parts moving. I can not get the clutch mechanism to work. Keeps sewing no matter what I do. I am not familiar with how the mechanism works.
