My n70 opens with a white screen and then turns to black and gray. if i press a key, it turns to white again, if i press a key again, it turns to black and gray and vice versa. i was just texting and then suddently it became all white.

Your phone is not dead yet. So nothing to worry. Try the below combination ,please follow this sequence:

PRESS the buttons green,*,3, power combination (until you get it to work).
- Turn off PIN code requests.
- Charge the phone fully.
- Turn off the phone.
- Remove the memory card (not really needed, but I usually do it to be on the safe side).
- Put the phone on a table (easier to press the keys then, in my opinion).
- Press the three keys and keep them securely down and do not release.
- While the keys are still down, turn the power on.
- Do not release the three keys .

You can to do a FULL format, do the following:

1. Make sure your phone is fully charged to handle the formatting process.
3. Turn off your n70.
4. Press and hold the following keys at the same time:
a. Green dial key
b. * or the star key.
c. the no. 3 key

5. Press the power on to switch on the phone. Take note: Hold those keys until you see a formatting word on your screen.

6. Wait for a few minutes until formatting is completed.

Try this one, enter *#7370# once you see the white screen. This will going to reset your phone to factory settings. Enter your security code, but by default 12345 is the security code.

Try the hard reset.

Try the green/3/* thing again (until you get it to work).
- Turn off PIN code requests.
- Charge the phone fully.
- Turn off the phone.
- Remove the memory card (not really needed, but I usually do it to be on the safe side).
- Put the phone on a table (easier to press the keys then, in my opinion).
- Press the three keys and keep them securely down and do not release.
- While the keys are still down, turn the power on.
- Do not release the three keys until you see the prompt for the home city.

If it doesn't work, retry until you get it right. It is easier if you have three hands.

OR:

A soft reset:
dial *#7370# after that it will ask for security code dial 12345 it's by default.

Press and hold 3 keys;
Green dial key, * (star key) & no. 3 key and then press the power on/off to swtich on the N70 phone.
release all the keys after you see NOKIA logo blink to white and wait until your phone re-boot..

make sure your battery is fully charge

check your battery! i think you are using duplicate battery! put original battery to your mobile! again the problem came mean install new software and format your mobile

this is a general N70 problem, you need to format your phone, all your data stored in phone memory will be lost but phone will be okay. follow these steps

Turn it off, press and hold *key, 3numeric key and green calling key now while holding these keys, turn on your mobile phone.
Keep holding these keys and the word "formating" will apear on your screen.
dont let go until the nokia start up apears
This will solve your problem

a lot tobe done in that problem of your... but i can give you one of the best... place yur unit in table so you can be cmfortable...the press all the keys in same time these keys are key *,key3,the call,and power on switch... much better if you had buddy beside you..to hold the unit... press them in same time or together, dont release it until you dont see a word formatting... wait until it finsih and the unit will be restarted by itself... enjoy
