Question about Kenmore Elite HE4 Electric Dryer
If this model has insta-light, no pilot light but lights when the start button activates, then you may have a bad starter. Because this is gas and can be dangerous if you open the burner area and try to test this I recommend you have a service tech check this out. I can not in good conscious recommend any action that may be a hazard to your life or possibly cause you serious injury. I would check this lighting mechanism though as it sounds like the problem.

The issue seems to be either
with the Thermal fuse which is located inside the rear panel to the exhaust
duct or the control board itself has gone bad. You can take a voltmeter and
check the thermal fuse for continuity, if it is open then replace the fuse else
the control should be replaced to solve this issue. Hope this helps...please
