Question about HP Laserjet M2727nf Multifunction Printer

3 Answers

We are on our 3rd HPLaserJet M2727nf printer as we've consistently had problems with the printer going into a sort of hibernation mode in the middle of the day. The projects we send do not print and the keypad stops working. We have to turn it off then back on, and then our documents will print. How can we fix this? I've spent hours on the phone with HP and they cannot help.

This is either an issue withthe printer driver, the printer ecm firmware or it is not recognising a wake up on oan signal. Try connecting directly to the prinetr if possible rather than using the LAN connection.

Microsoft Operating System protocol is to install first and then always have drivers and applications install on top of them. More often than not the drivers are outdated and rendered unusable by many of the operating system updates and then need to be updated themselves by the relevant vendor or have to be uninstalled and then reinstalled. Of recent times this has become more and more of an issue due to complexities in the registry and in the COM fabric of the operating system. The registry often gets clogged up with superfluous entries and needs cleaning out to improve performance just like the HD inside the PC needs defragmenting occasionally. Unfortunately when many of the updates from Microsoft and many other software vendors are applied they leave their old entries in the registry and just write new ones - simply because it is convenient and easier for them to do so.

Uninstall the application and drivers using the HP remove utility. It is not sufficient to use the Operating System uninstall as it does not work that well. The Registry, Application, Folders and drivers need to be totally removed.

A registry clean is recommended. You can do this by downloading a free 30 day use of Ashampoo from and clean up your system of all the unnecessary entries. I have been using it for a few years now with grate success and no problems. You can always restore any deleted entries before binning them forever.

Once completed then reboot the PC then reinstall the HP drivers and application. Make sure these are the latest ones available from HP support for your operating system at

Ink does not stick to page on m2727 when printing cardstock. We have tried using different paper settings.

Are you using original HP toners or 3rd party (refills)? We have had issues with some 3rd party toners not bonding properly on heavier media. How heavy a cardstock are you trying to print on? If it is heavier than the highest rated paper for this printer then it may not bond at all, regardless of toner used. The heaviest paper that HP rates for this printer is 43 lb/bond. A lot of cardstock starts at around 65 lb/bond.

The ink is peeling off the laser crystal clear labels. Why? My printer is a HPlaserjet 3050.

Are you using orignal HP cartridges or remanufactured cartridges? We have had a lot of problems with 3rd party toner not bonding properly and installing an original HP cartridge usually fixes the problem.

Am getting 50.2 fuser error on hplaserjet m2727nf printer

50.2 error is an internal hardware error.
Turn off the power using the switch, and wait at least 30 seconds.
Do not use a surge protector. Plug printer directly into the wall outlet.
Power on. If the error comes back, contact HP.

My HP Laserjet M2727nf is printing with a line in the middle of the document but only when the document feeder is used not the copy bed. Any suggestion on how to fix this?

Clean the ADF strip glass. This is the thin strip of glass that is right next to the larger document glass. There is usually something stuck to the glass causing the line.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
