Check this; is a bug for Series 9000.
QUOTE(Jamie Watson @ Tue Oct 2 2007, 11:08) 447398Splitcam
has been known and used by some Skype users for quite some time, as a
work-around to get Skype to accept video from devices that it wouldn't
otherwise see, generally non-webcam devices such as DV camera adapters,
video adapter cards and the like. It does seem to "work", at least in
so far as some of those people have come back and said thanks, that
solved the problem.
Conceptually it could avoid the Pro 9000
problem, since it would be handling the camera, and it has already been
well established here that the "video freezing" and various other
problems do not seem to occur when the Pro 9000 is used with other IM
programs, or even with previous versions of Skype. However, it would
add another layer of processing to your data stream, and a
corresponding load to your computer, and it might have some negative
effects in terms of speed/quality of the video stream. Of course, in my
opinion "some negative effects" would have to be put into context
compared to "not working at all" if that is your current situation with
the Pro 9000, so what the heck, it's worth a try.
I have not
seen any reports of virus/spyware/other associated with splitcam; I
have seen a couple of comments about it having to be open and
displaying adverts, I guess it depends on how much that might bother
you; I just ignore that sort of thing and write it off to "they've got
to make money somehow".
If you decide to try it, please let us know here how it goes.
END.
Hope help you. Good luck.
