Question about Canon PowerShot SX100 IS Digital Camera
Recently I was doing some shooting on a beach and camera stopped working suddenly (Freezed with lens out). I removed the battery, re-inserted and switched on the camera, now it is giving above error. Does anybody know a solution to this? Can this be repaired or is this deadly?
This is a known defect in this camera. It has happened twice to me in less than two years. If your warranty is valid then you can send it to Canon and they will fix it in about 6 weeks. However you will end up paying to renew your warranty every year because it will happen to you again. A total waste of money in my opinion. This has been such an awesome camera but after this happening to me again I am going to junk it and buy a Nikon.

Somehow your camera may soaked with your wet hands causing the camera's delicate electronic parts to ground which causes to stop working. Cleaning it thoroughly may solve this problem. Or the lens of your camera could be bent to side without your intention andknowledge, try to align it, maybe this time it works.
