I have a Yamaha CP33 stage piano. It is a good instrument, but does not come with speakers, so I invested in a used YSP-800 sound bar. The piano and the speaker system share a sleek and sober style and keeps the installation and wire mess to a minimum. As expected, 30W (82W peak) is plenty for me and the response over the whole spectrum is good even if slightly limited in the lower range. My deception is that this speaker unit delays its output. I would say something in the range of 100-200ms. This really spoils the playing experience, especially with sounds with a sharp attack (like piano). I could not find in the user manual any indication to eliminate or at least reduce the annoying delay. Is there anything I can do? I don't even mind open the unit and doing some soldering as I cannot return it.

- You are right about the setup options, but the delay cannot be fully eliminated. Even when you set it at 0ms, there is still a delay of about 150ms. I contacted Yamaha tech support and there is no work around. The delay is supposedly present on all the current YSP product line. YSP digital signal processing induce a delay that can only be increased using the setup options to match the delay of some "slow" TV sets. In an ordinary home theatre configuration the delay is imperceptible, but if you play games or music, it is another matter. So I've sold my YSP-800 and I bought an M-Audio LX4 2.1 system, which I should receive next Monday. The sound should be much better (an without a delay), but I will miss the YSP form factor.

this unit came on by itself in the middle of the night with full blast sound...scared us! No one else was around and we were on another floor of the house. Ever heard of this? An electrical or wiring issue? (no other components came on) thanks!
