I was using machine when it turned off. It will turn on and usually will boot up to desktop but then will turn off. This with unit plugged into wall and the charge light on. It does not seem exceedingly hot or anything. If it is a power issue why does charge light come on when I plu it in? If a virus issue--and I dont surf much really then what?

If it is not a virus, try change the RAM and/or the small (yellow packed) CMOS Battery that is below the normal battery. (usually lasts for 5 to 7 years)

i guess you might have a issue with a virus.boot in safe mode and install any latest antivirus and try to get rid of those viruses.
