Question about JVC DLA-HX1 Multimedia Projector

Lamp replaced, sequence from Manual (p.49) for 2010+ hrs fails

I just purchased a replacement lamp (BHL5006-S) for my JVC DLA HX1U. I am unable to get my unit going again because my projector unit somehow has me locked out (so to speak) - I am gathering. After so many hours of total use on the last lamp (I am guessing approximately 2010+ the unit will simply not startup/turn on: the "Standby lamp is "on" (Red), the "Lamp" indicator light constantly flashes red. I have followed the steps outlined in my manual which suggest that I need to follow a sequence to reset the lamp timer before it will work again (i.e., press "Exit", "Hide", "Preset" and then hold the "Vol +" button for 2 or more seconds. The Operate and Standby buttons are supposed to flash and then I should be able to turn the unit on. I have tried this via the Remote control, directly on the unit itself, etc. No such luck. I have verified that the new lamp is seated properly, latch closed properly, door closed properly, filters cleaned, power unplugged/replugged, etc., all to no avail. I left the unit unplugged overnight hoping that this might clear a battery of some such memory device - this did not work either. The Status never changes when plugged in - the "Standby lamp comes "on" (Red)", the "Lamp" indicator light flashes red. There apparently is more that I must do (or perhaps something which I have done which needs to be done differently, but this has gotten very frustrating. Would love a solution ASAP if someone knows it. Thanks in advance.

    It is not real clear how or where I was supposed to answer your multiple email queries about whether this is still an issue I have (or your requests to get me to upgrade to your monthly paying service) so unfortunately I have placed this here by mistake. Yes, I am still in need of assistance. Not planning on upgrading at this point, but still could use some of FixYa's wonderful "Free" help your site touts - have not received ANY solutions so far!

Apparently, the above posted steps do work, but they are finicky. The manual suggests that you do the aforementioned steps with the remote - I had tried with the remote and when that did not work I tried directly on the controls on the unit itself. Neither had worked - after multiple attempts, hence the posting above. The solution was that the various steps need to be done speedily - when I previously did it I apparently did not press the sequence rapidly enough. Nothing in the manual suggests that this is the case (and in fact I thought I had previously followed the steps in rapid succession on at least one of the many times I had tried, but apparently not quickly enough). I never could get this rapid succession of steps to work with the remote (as the manual said I needed to), but I did ultimately get the rapid succession of steps to work when done directly to the unit itself. The first three steps need to be completed within approximately 1-1.5 seconds, the final push of the volume+ button did require 2 or more seconds before the process was recognized (and complete). Never did have a single FixYa party try to address my issue - perhaps you only really get responses from them when you pay for their monthly service.

How to replace a lamp on my jvc tv

If you haave the original manual, this is discussed at the start of page 91. If you dont have manual, it can be obtained at

1. Purchase lamp TS-CL110UAA
2. Turn Off and unplugg set
3. Remove lamp cover located on the left side of TV
4. Remove and replace lamp
5. Reset lamp counter in menu for accurate hour information.

1,Check the fans ,if the fan is running
2,Inductor (Sensing element),near the Color Wheel. Use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol to wipe the Inductor.

I have purchased 3 new lamps. one lasted 900 hrs.

Your lamp is rated for 3000 hours. Is the fan working to cool the lamp? When you turn off the projector do you allow the fan to continue to run? If not the lamp is not cooling evenly and the lamp will fail. Th filters should be cleaned regularly and the vents be unobstructed.

Excuse me I recently changed the bulb on my JVC HDMI DLA-1 Projector and it still says I need to change the bulb how do I solve this issue?

Agreed with Fathi, Press and hold down the video, settings and quick alighn + > at the same time for six seconds. While the stand by and operate indicators are on, press video, settings and computer buttons at the same time.

Reset timer on jvc dla g150c projectorlamp

1 Turn on the MAIN POWER switch to go
into stand-by mode.
In stand-by mode, the STAND BY indicator on the
projector lights up.
2 Press the following buttons on the
projector, sequentially.
1 Momentary press the PC button.
2 Momentary press the ENTER button.
3 Momentary press the EXIT button.
4 Press and hold the HIDE button for two seconds
or more.
* During this sequence, the STAND BY and OPERATE
indicators alternately blink about every approx. 3 seconds.
After completion of the sequence, the STAND BY indicator
alone stays on.
* Buttons must be pressed within 2 seconds of the previous

the beginning of the sequence.
* To check the lamp time on the menu, press the MENU button
and select “Information” with the cursor button 5 or ∞.

A warning pops up on the screen of my Panasonic PT50LC13 That my lamp needs replacing and I need to reset the lamp timer, how do I reset the lamp timer?

After replacement of lamp, turn on TV, press and hold Volume Down button on TV front and press and hold Split/ Play button on TV remote at same time for 6 seconds.
That will reset lamp timer and confirmation display will come at TV screen.
Above info are also available in original Panasonic replacement Lamp box.

I also had this issue - followed the On, Input, Undo, Left, Enter, Right, On button sequence several times. Then I decided to push them in that sequence very quickly and it worked. The lamp LED on the front changed to green and the projector started up. So the button sequence they provide in the manual works, you just have to push them in rapid succession. Hope that helps.

Dla-g15 comes on but do not start

does the cooling fan come on at all during the instant that it turns on for? If not then the problem is almost certainly overheating, depending on exactly how long it takes to turn off - is it so "instantly" that it is before you get your finger off the button, or is it a couple of seconds or so. If the fan does come on then so long as you are fairly sure all filters etc are clean the most likely problem is the lamp is not installed correctly or there could be a fault in the temperature sensor. check the lamp installation instructions and make sure you have followed them exactly. post back and we can look for more info if you need it :)
