SOURCE: Did you ever get your Philips fixed?

that specific flashiing is the software in the computer, the television has inside

you need to go to the philips website and download an upgrade software repair it is free-- put it on a thumb drive without any other things on it---- the television ,must be on to install --- turn it on with the remote and then insert the thumb drive-- the television will run a scan--- then turn off television and wait a few minutes-- turn it back on with the switch on the side of the unit-----

the power problem is something else--- the power board sounds like is going bad--- a new one is around 300-400 and a rebult unit is around 100 --- you can find them on

this television is poorly built -- when you get the new board it is easy to install -- before ordering a new board -- check the fuses on the board-- there are two fuses -- one is 1amp and the other is 5amp -- both are slwo burn fuses

SOURCE: Red LED blinking after turn on the TV (Philips Plasma 42PF9631D

The TV is on protect mode.

Try first leaving the TV power cord unplugged for some times, let say one hour or so.

Also ensure that the fault is not coming from a faulty receiver box sending bad signal, check if you get same problem with no receiver box or dvd connected.

If that does not work, and you keep having a flashing led on front of the TV, and tv turning off by itself after a while, that indicates a fault condition.

The flashing light indicates a diagnostic state called protection.
When the TV goes on protection there are only two possible reasons.

1The internal circuits are jammed because of electrostatic charges accumulating on capacitors, or because of a wrong voltage read by the main chip on your monitor controller board. this started the protection circuit.

2 The protection circuit detected a wrong voltage or abroken contact, identified an internal fault and kicked in , startingthe flashing light.

If you are in situation one, then theTV will reset just unplugging power cord for one or two hours, sometimes even minutes.

If you are in situation 2 , then there is an internal fault.

Common faults that can occur are a blown capacitor on power board, a convergence IC has blown, or a fault on Digital board.

Check also the video cable or any external connection cable, if the cable is shorting, or the connector is bad, you can get same flashing state because of the video cable.

If under warranty contact the manufacturer ringing the number on the user manual

If you want to repair at your own expenses, just locate any good qualified repairer.

SOURCE: Philips 20PF4121 LCD tv no picture but flashing error codes

I had exactly the same problem When the TV was switched on all I could see was a flashing green light. After cheching the TV internals and not seeing a problem including the power supply unit which looked and checked normal. Here is what I did to get M TV working again.
Disconnect it from the power supply. Hold down all the buttons simultaneously i.e. the on/off, the volume, the programme, menu buttons, all of them simultaneously and Plug it into the power supply again.
Lo and behold My TV jumped back into life after an absence of about 4 weeks.
Try it yourself exactly as above.

Best of luck.

After turning of the TV for a few minutes, it won't turn ON. The power LED turns green for a second and then becomes red and flashes, Philips Model 32PF7321D/37

grodmx74, You or electronics technician will need to find the "thermally-intermittant-hair-line-fracture" of a component soldered to the switch-mode-power-supply printed circuit board with aid of large magnifing glass or use a 10x or 20x inspection microscope, and then resolder the connection. 12fixlouie

The remote control will not operate the TV when the TV is in the OFF mode (No LED lit on front bezel). To change the mode from OFF to STANDBY or ON, press the POWER button on the side of the TV. Once the POWER button is pressed, the LED will change to either red to indicate STANDBY or green to indicate ON, whichever mode the TV was in prior to being turned off with the TV POWER button.

By pressing the POWER button on the side of the TV, the mode will toggle from OFF to either STANDBY or ON. If the POWER button is pressed and then the LED on the bezel is red, the TV is in STANDBY mode and will need to be turned on using the remote control. If the POWER button is pressed and then the LED on the bezel is green, the TV is ON.
