I have tried two different convertor boxes on my Analog HDTV ready hitachi tv. But sometimes on tv shows a black screen pops up over the picture. I have to press any botton from the remote and the black screen will desapear for a few seconds. I have to change channel and watch a different program. Sometimes the screen will have a message that says "no ring". thank for your help.

- The convertor box is a Digital stream DTX9950, and it does not have phone capability neither the Hitachi tv. The black screen appears if i want to watch a program like TMZ or Jerry Springer. The black screen beside the "no ring" also shows some technical jargon.Clarification Request

does your tv or converter box have caller id capability? or have a way to connect to the phone?

Check your ratings settings, it almost sounds like youhave some ratings filter set so that if anything comes on that you wouldnt want kids watching it blacks out the screen.

- Sounds almost like you have some filter settings on so that children cant watch things that may not be appropriate for them. check your settings onthe tv and cable box for content filtering.Yes
