I have a Dell Inspiron 1520 laptop and I cannot figure out whether it has a built in microphone for Skype and if so how to use it

This model Dell has a built-in micphone.
If the person cannot hear you then, either your microphonedriver not installed or not working OR the microphone is not configured inSkype.
To test your microphone then click on Start - All Programs - Accessories -Entertainment - Sound recorder. Then record your voice and then play it back.If this is OK then the microphone need to be configured in Skype.
To configure the microphone - Open Skype - Tools - Options -Audio Settings for the Microphone THEN click on Save.

Does xps m140 has an inbuilt microphone

sure it has..they all have ..just have to activate it ..from the volume manager ..just double click on the volume icon on the tray system ..it will open the volume manager //in the left click options /than properties..and activate it from the list ..than be sure it is not muted and have volume ..(olso get volume on wave files to assure it has enough volume ) ..that's all

Corrupted operating system dell xps m140. how to

Dell ships their system with factory installed software and recovery discs.if you formatted using a different , the pre installed recovery are gone. so CALL DELL customer service and have them ship you out a recovery disc its for free, i guess if your still under warranty.

The Dell 9300 does not have a built in microphone. If it did it would be on the top of the lcd.

You will need and external microphone to record/transmit audio. If you are going to do video conferencing, most high quality new webcams have a built in microphone in the webcam

Yes, your Dell laptop has a built-in microphone. In fact every laptop has.
You can locate it on the top of the LCD. Or you can view the manual that came with your laptop to locate the mic.

You need to enable it from the sound properties, though. To enable it, click on the tiny speaker icon near the system clock on the task bar. Double- click this icon and you will have options to enable or disable it. Try a little searching if you cannot find it.
