Call of duty 4, xbox live "connection interrupted"

I'm online with 4 bars of connectivity, in the middle of the game my screen starts "lagging" the words "connection interrupted" come up with a picture of an ethernet cable being pulled out and I get booted back to the lobby where I get another message "server disconnected". What is this all about I get a loss everytime I get booted. I bought a new modem, router, wireless adapter, still the problem persists. I've tried everything from network settings to you name it nothing works. What's up? E-mail me at with some answers please. JD

    i have the same prob and my xbox screen gets really slow like and it disconnects me from xbox live. i'm beginning to think its not just me its there servers and also could be my elite

    I have the same problem also. Every time i play Call of Duty 4 on Xbox live i get a "connection interrupted" I have wireless Internet and have opened and closed all the ports I needed to. I've called microsoft about 10 times and the problem is still present. tell me if you can help. Thanks

    My xbox constantly gets disconnected, I get the unplugged ethernet icon all the time. My xbox also freezes sometimes when I try to join a game and says that 0 players are playing. Also, it says game lobby closed more times than I actually play a game. The game was fine to play at first but just lately its starting these problems. Wtf.

    Am I the only one that has been having problems with the F-ing game since christmas i can't even play a whole online game the only way to play is if i invite four friends to a room and even then i have trouble with the connection so what the fuck microsoft first the red ring of death with no compensation then this get your crap together

    Its not just 360, PS3 has the same probs sometimes worse from what I hear. PC also has probs, its the games servers, "demonware" provides IW's service. Go to this link, better answers. Hang it out hopefully this trash gets settled sometime soon B4 SOCOM comes out and I gotta go buy a PS3!

    I have the same problem! yesterday, i had a record 3 games played in one day. that is how much it will let me. ive had it since christmas and im only a lvl 7! i want to play but it wont let me! plz sum1 fix it!!!!!!!!

    ok, so i have this exact problem as well. i have been doing a LOT of research into it, but the fact that xbox live had so many problems over the holidays has made it almost impossible to get any kind of decent feedback. so im going to go ahead and explain the problem, and then i will do one better. i will tell you what ISNT the problem, and explain why i know this.

    the problem: during gameplay over xbox live you experience a loss of connection (the majority of my experience is with call of duty 4 and halo 3, but this problem happens on any game). you get a message along the lines of "connection interrupted" or in the case of halo 3 you get the "blue screen" or score screen. after this you get placed back into a pre-game lobby or a party screen and get the message "host ended game" or "session no longer available". in addition, this may sound familiar, sometimes instead of being back in the lobby, you will find yourself back in the game all alone. this happens because your xbox happened to be hosting that match, and instead of dropping you out of the game, it dropped the other players.

    what i know about the problem: this is what happens as best as i can figure when this problem occurs. you are able to receive data, but not send data, for a small period of time. you can tell this because, even though the "connection interrupted" message is displaying, you can still hear the people in the game talking, but they can not hear you. this goes on for about 10-15 seconds before the game drops you. see, the game thinks you left because you arent sending data anymore, so it stops sending data to you. thats when your teams voices get cut off, the game freezes for a second, and you are deposited back into the lobby, or "dropped". sometimes the interruption can even be short enough that, while you still get the "connection interrupted" message, you stay in the game and it goes away after a few seconds (i cheer when that happens). still, no one can hear you during the interruption.
    also please note that no other players in the game, unless your xbox is hosting the match, will experience anything other than a mild latency spike when this happens (most likely caused by your own connection problems). no one else drops from the game. i frequently re-join my friends in a game immediately after i was dropped from that same game.
    also of note, at no time do you lose connection to xbox live. you never "sign out".

    things that are NOT causing this:

    ROUTERS. i know they cause a lot of havoc, but this happens even when directly WIRED to the modem. multiple people confirmed this.

    the GAME HOST terminating the match. yeah sometimes they do. but this isnt it. if it was the game would end and you would still be in your party. read above.

    your INTERNET CONNECTION. this only affects xbox gameplay. your PC or any other things like VOIP are not affected at these "interruption" times. at no point do the lights on your modem change. i play PC games like counter-strike and have never had any problems. this doesnt rule out your ISP however.

    the XBOX LIVE issues over the holiday season. this has been happening since well before any of that. but because of the amount of new people to xbox live around that time, many people assume that to be the cause.

    unfortunately thats about as far as my knowledge of networking can get me. as best as i can figure the cause is one of two things. the first is an ISP issue. perhaps somewhere between the ISP and the xbox servers that run these games something is happening to the signal. maybe re-routing through different servers when traffic is high? i dont really know that much when it comes to that kind of stuff. the other possibility is something i just started thinking of in the past few days as i searched forums trying to find an answer. i noticed many of the people who post about having this problem mention having an Elite model 360. i too have an Elite, purchased in mid September 07. maybe something is faulty with the network port or card in the Elites. if so there should be some sort of recall. again, i have no way of finding out other than to ask for help. i am smart enough to understand what is happening, but i cant find the why. so thats what i know. please, someone smarter than me, read this and figure it out. i'll help in any way i can. you can contact me by replying to this or you can find me on xbox live, gamertag DRW Dumpy

    ok guys, good news and bad news. i have been doing more research and i THINK i know whats up now. the symptoms point to faulty hardware. unless the problem lies within xbox live itself, there is no other answer but a faulty network card/port. a few notes, this problem isnt just COD4, try a different game, you will still drop. it seems to be fine until the console gets warm. try leaving the console off for a while, and then see if you can play online for a few games while its still warming up. i have noticed this myself and if more people can confirm we will know its a hardware problem.

    so please, give that a try, and post here letting us know what happens.

    Hi , ive got the same problem, mine works fine for about 15 mins then i get connection interruption, i never sign out of xbox live and my internet connection never drops. I have tried direct connection to my modem, (currently ntl ambit 200), getting new modem tomorrow from virgin media although im not expecting it to work!

    Not sure about the heat thing as, if i disconnect then reconnect xbox live i can get another 15 or so mins gameplay. I can do this repeatedly for about 45 mins then i seem to get continuous interruptions.

    I have spoke to microsoft, gonna phone them back once ive tried new modem, Youll laugh at this.... According microsoft I am having this trouble because every xbox live user i am playing have got there firewall set too high.......HAHAHA

    Obviously i did not accept this bullshit and waited for an hour to speak to one of the technician supervisors, who was a bit better but still didnt really have a clue.

    As I have said i going to try new modem tomorrow then when it still doesnt work im going to phone microsoft i will keep u informed

    sorry to hear that Thgores. more and more its starting to look like its the network card/port. i tried a brand new ethernet cable the other day and got about 3-4 hours of uninterrupted play, and then it started dropping me again. is my xbox breaking my ethernet cables? i dunno, but it makes no sense to me. if you have the option, see if you can take your box to a buddies house and see if you still get dropped. if you do then its deffinately your xbox. and dont feel bad about the phone support guy, they dont know anything other than to type your problem into their computer and read you what it says. and if you are calling them you have probably already tried that. amirite!?!?! lol. i pasted my long post in an email to xbox support and got a form letter back on how to troubleshoot my router. its obvious they didnt even read my email. im at my boiling point with them atm. anyhow, lemme know if you find anything out, and thanks for posting with the info. the more people we can network with this issue, the faster we can force MS to figure it out.

    Hi, me again

    Got new modem tuesday , xbox live still the same as expected, 15 mins of gameplay then connection interruption.

    Gonna take it up with MS again but havent found the energy to make that phone call again. Will keep you posted.

    Recently (late Feb 08) I started having this issue too. I have my Linksys wtg54 router setup properly, latest firmware, fwd ports, etc, xbox live is happy with NAT open. I will have 5 bars signal in COD4, and then BAM! kicked out with server disconnect.

    With my laptop also on wireless, I pinged yahoo, avg 29 ms. This is both with xbox off, and during play. When I get the "connection interruption" during the game, I ping yahoo again. But this time I get "ping request could not find host". As soon as I am fully kicked out, the ping resumes ok at 29 ms.

    update! seems more and more likely a hardware issue. can anyone disprove this for me: this problem is common to xbox 360's with HDMI outputs. if you can then let us know. more and more people keep popping up with this problem and responding to the many threads i have out there. more and more i see people referring to their "new model 360 with HDMI" when they respond. also possibly could be new model 360's with old model HDD's used on them. i.e. i am using an Elite 360 but have my old 20gb HDD from my launch console because i havent yet been able to get a transfer cable. that is my true situation, and another post talked of using his son's new HDMI 360 with his old HDD while his is in the shop for the red rings. he had the same problem since then. let us know if this strikes any chords out there.

    I have the exact same problem that everyone else is having. I figured it was a hardware issue and after reading a few of these post i was able to somewhat confirm my suspicion. luckily i had just recently purchased a new system, so instead of calling MS I just took it back to Walmart and got a whole new one. Got home and set it up and BLAM "connection interrupted" and i'm kicked out back to the lobby....5 sec....then im kicked to find a whole new match....Ok so guess what I take that one back THE SAME DAY and got another 360 ( and these are the new pro systems with HDMI ports)...Set it up and the same is still happening!!!! like every other game sometimes worse....So if this is a hardware issue with the network cards I bet its a lot more widespread than we think or MS is letting off....But I can say this in MS defense that update we got at the beginning of march has helped me stay connected much more now so i can finish games...I still get the message, but a lot of the times now i just snap back into action after like 10-20 secs lag...Which is kinda leading me to believe it could be a server side issue....whatever the case my next step is to send my console back to MS and have them work on it until they know its good to go!...I hope this can help with the troubleshooting effort we have going here.

    yep this is happening to me to after about 6:00 pm my xbox live just won't let me play. as soon as i get into a match connection interrupted pops up on my screen and i am booted from the game contacted xbox live several times only to recieve that its not microsofts fault its internet connection is working perfectly my router is working perfectly.....SORT OUT THE SERVERS!!!

    I also have been experiencing this problem on te 360 and sadly can't
    play for more than 1 to 5 mins without being chucked out on a perfect
    connection whilst playing with my friend with him having not a single

    As i look to the forums for help i come across more and more people with this problem on COD4.
    The solution lies with activision and infinity ward, so where the hell is it? I'm still waiting!!!!!!

    did come across someone who felt that changing the wireless channel was
    the solution. For some it could well be if there are in fact others
    with wireless on the same channel nearby. For me NO CHANCE!

    i've recently started having this same problem. i have a wired linksys with 2 pc's and 2 360's running on it. this worked fine until a week ago. now i get connection interrupted all the also drops my internet to the pc at the same time. only for about 10 seconds ,then i'm up and running again. isp says everythings ok on their end (of course). any one have any ideas? this started just after the update and may also be related to losing power to the whole system suddenly.

    I am having the same problem, but only with phone calls. I lag when they ring in, but when the phone is answered i am automatically kicked off with the connection interrupted.This happens to me on call of duty 4.     Just wanted to chime in with my two cents. It makes me feel better to know that others are having this problem. I have yelled at the customer support folks with my internet provider and claimed they had faulty service. I have emailed Xbox Live and they sent me a stock reply (some of the hyperlinks in the email were not even active any longer) so basically I have dealt with seeing connection interrupted at least every 10 minutes and sometimes much sooner. It really affects my game play because if I have an air strike, I call it in the instant I get waiting for a uav because I know I may be knocked offline any second. Sure I have killed my entire team before but the only way to ensure I can use it is to do it quick. Nothing more painful than to be sitting on 30+ kills and only 2 deaths, waiting to call in an airstrike and then get knocked offline. I wonder if MicroSoft will reimburse me for the controllers I have broken throwing them into walls? :)

    I'm having the issue of "Network Connection Lost" midway through a game on LIVE (normally COD4). I get booted out of LIVE as apparently I've lost my connection. I'm currently connected wirelessly so I've tried wired and still have the same prob. According to my ISP I've been connected permanently and have had no loss of connection. Microsoft recommended checking some ports were open and updating firmware.... whcih did nothing. I've used LIEV for a year without fault, renewed my membership 3 weeks ago and had this problem ever since. A senior member of LIVE support is supposed to be calling me back to discuss further so fingers crossed for a solution imminently. I guess its something crazy going on with LIVE?? but who knows........

    Yea, i have the same problem as you do. Every other game i have works fine on Xbox live. Including Halo 3, Rainbox Six Vegas. Only COD4 says that. My friend said to just keep finding a game and on like the 7th time it will work. that dosent work either.

    I have been having the same issue. 1-5 min then connection lost and thrown out of the game. Comcast came and rewired the whole house including the line to the house from the pole. I am now getting 15000 kbps down and 2000 kbps up on speakeasy speed test. I've tried hooking the modem directly into the xbox with no router or wireless connection in between. It still does exactly the same thing. This really sucks and I don't know what to do. I do know that M$ will just blame Comcast and now Comcast will blame M$ and I will be getting the shaft.

    Played cod4 for months, now it keeps getting the "connection interruption" in the middle of matches.YES, every thing checks out....NAT set to open etc. I mean Iam signed in and playing then 15 minutes later or 2 hours (you never know) it happens. Is it because school is out for summer and so many people are on the network????

    Glad to know I'm not the only one. Same thing on COD4. Somedays are better than others, but always connection interuption. Cable company has been out so many times, they've practically re-wired the whole house to no avail. Thought it was them but after reading the posts on this site I think otherwise. Would be nice to play a game without interuption. Same thing with router, lights go out and has to reboot itself.

    I have been using my wireless adapter for 4 5 months now and havnt had a problem since. I just recently bought a new 32 in. lcd hdtv and now i get connection interupted everytime i play a game, especially cod4. i moved the 360 and tv closer to my computer and used an ethernet cable. that worked perfectly but i cant keep it there, so now im stuck with the wireless connection. not sure what to do other than buying a 250 ft ethernet cable considering my 360 is pretty far away from my router but has always worked fine

    1. My connection is the lowest posibility (the little orange square) and I will lag like crazy

    2. Or my connection will be in the middle (3 light green bars) and I will lag and get connection interrupted on my screen and then it disconnects me from LIVE

    I also have the same problem. I'll be in a game and start lagging then the  "connection interrupted" message appears with a picture of an ethernet cable being unplugged and I get booted back to the lobby where I get  "server disconnected" message. I tested the just the xbox on my Motorola SB5120 modem and had no disconnects. Thinking then it was my router I replaced my Linksys BEFSR41 router for a Netgear WRG614 and still had the same problem. I then tried a Linksys WRT54G2 which wouldn't even install.

    Same problem, but it only happens at the busiest times--I'm playing in the UK, it's fine in the morning here, but mid afternoon to evening (i.e. when the US comes online) I start getting the connection interrupted message. This makes me think it must be a server issue. It's been getting very bad recently.

    I've tried everything.....and of course both parties (comcast & MS) blame each other. This just sucks - I can only play for a two or three mins at a time and it doesn't seem to matter what online game either! It must be a Xbox hardware issue.

    screen lags. i get killed because of "glitches" where my screen freezed for split seconds. sometimes i can finish an entire game but RARELY. it usually says "connection interrupted" and jerks around for a few seconds and then kicks me out of the game and therefore robbing me of the bonus xp points that you get at the end of a match. it's very frustrating. sometimes it occurs before i even get a match started.

    I used to have the best connection ever. Then I moved my 360 for a short period of time and when I moved it back to its original spot it now has only a red (one bar) connection. I'm looking for a way to fix this because I haven't always had a bad connection.

    i test my connnecivity on the system settings/network settings and it shows full signal ( 4 bars ) but when i join a game it will say connection interupted untill i am sent back to the lobby automatically.

    I got 12 "connection interrupted" problems in one game, and i had FOUR bars. I never got kicked out but the kill-cam showed me frozen in a running position, so i got killed alot.

    i have the same problem, we recently had virgin media come round to the house to give us an updated router or modem not quite sure, so it was all fine for the first week but it has started going funny again and noe says connection interupted. i am a serious gamer and i am starting to get really annoyed does anybody have any suggestions? very thankful.

    I go to my system settings and it says that xbox live is up and running and has 3-4 bars. but when I go to COD4 I always get my connection interupted message and get punted to the lobby where another message says sever connection timed out!!!     i tried all the open nat things and they all kept me at moderate. i think that the server has went to garbage since the update, and it could also be that the people playing downloaded the game on their hd making it harder to connect to them

    This is ridiculous. I can have four bars, perfect connection and then...connection interrupted. Seems to happen frequently in COD4 and hardly at all with Halo 3. I have pretty much tried everything short of getting a new 360. The fact that people have to sit around trying to find a work around for a product they paid top dollar for is typical of Microsoft, why didn't I get a PS3????

    Yeah i have been having that problem with COD4 also, Not like i didnt expect it. Hacked into the neighbors WEP encrypted connection which is right next door, 4 bars on the wireless internet and 4-5 bars on COD4 and still within the first 5 minutes of a map i get a CI...Glad to hear im not the only one, Maybe this free internet will work for gaming afterall....

    I live in Australia and have the exact same problems with XBox Live(COD 5). It seems after maybe one or two maps on any server it crashes and I get the connection interrupted notice. Sometimes it happens on the very first map. never had this problem with any other game

    I keep getting the same problem,every time I join a game session it shows a picture of an ethernet cord being pulled out of the socket and then it boots me back to the lobby and says "Server timed Out or Server Disconnected".I don't know why this is happening but would it be because of the speed of my internet,my internet speed is 54mps at best,is it too slow or what is it???

    evry time i try and play, the screen glitches around and ther is a symbol of an ethernet cable being pulled out and it says "connection interupted", just like in another thread posted on this site. sumtimes, wen it gets bad enuf, it exits the math and ses sumthing like "server failed" but im not exactly sure wat. dus ne1 no how 2 solve this prblem??? ive alredy spent enuf money buying all of this stuff 2 get xbox live set up, so it makes me pissed that it dusnt work. i need help. thanx 2 ne1 hu can help

I had the same exact problems until I...

1. Reconfigured my router's NAT settings. (It might also be a good idea to update your router's firmware while you are reconfiguring these settings).

2. Set up a Static IP Address. ( came in handy for this).

3. Forwarded the ports that XBOX LIVE uses (TCP/UDP 3074 and 88). These ports were usually blocked by my router's firewall settings. ( should be able to guide you through this step. Just select your router and/or firewall from the list).

4. Tested my XBOX LIVE network settings. This can be done by navigating from the XBOX Dashboard to SYSTEM > NETWORK SETTINGS > TEST XBOX LIVE CONNECTION. (I believe that by testing these settings not only will you be able to see if everything is configured properly, but you will also update your XBOX LIVE network settings by doing so).

This is what worked for me, I hope it solves other people's connection problems. However, if this does not work, try bypassing the router altogether. If you still have connection problems, even when not linked up to the router, then it is most likely server-side connection problems.

Here's what you do... find a friend that doesn't get "punted". Take your computer to his house and play the game. If you get punted on HIS network, the problem is with YOUR computer.
If it doesn't get punted, take your computer back home and connect it directly to the modem with a cable. (Bypass any routers, etc) If you DON'T get punted, the problem obviously lies with the device that provides a connection to your modem (router, for example).
If your computer is physically connected with a cable to your modem and you DO get punted, the problem is with your modem or your ISP.
Lastly, we need to collectively apply pressure to the makers of COD4 to revise their program code to store pertinent information so that if a connection is lost, we can rejoin and maintain the stats. That would certainly be an improvement over the current situation. I LOVE COD4, with the exception of the connection problem.

There are a couple of things i must disagree with here. Firstly "our team has worked around the clock to return the service to a stable state". This suggests the problem has been resolved, it has not. Neither do the team seem to have any idea what is the problem or how to solve it, as they prove whenever you attempt to contact them for support.
Secondly "we will be offering all of our Xbox LIVE members around the world access to a full Xbox LIVE Arcade game that will be available to download free of charge". A free arcade game does not make up for, what has so far been a week of lost playing time on what you people have paid good money to use.

I have contacted Microsoft through the support page, and would suggest you all do, to show that they cannot get away with giving us just a free game, we demand more!

I had the problem and I fixed it. I tried to put my 360 in a DMZ but that was causing the MTU to fail. When I used a static IP I ran into issues with the MTU as well so I decided to play around with setting up a virtual server on my router (Belkin not sure about model number) and I routed the following ports to the IP address that was assigned to my XBOX: (Private IP should be your Xbox's IP adress)
28960 TCP Private Port 28960
20500 UDP Private port 20500
20510 UDP Private port 20510
28960 UDP Private Port 28960

This fixed the problem and now I dont get kicked out when I am trying to kill people.

I also added port configurations for Unreal tournamnet, Rougue Spear, Quake 3, and Half Life at the same time so that may have helped as well. I am not great with routers but I hope this helps someone.

I also used to have that problem. I would get connection interrupted almost every game. Since my DSL and modem could only go in another room. I hooked my wireless laptop next to the TV and used that as a modem. I think when you get " connection interrupted" it refers to conflicting IP problems, like say a computer that's trying to reset its own IP automatically ( which by the way most lap tops do occasionally., which if your connecting through it, is screwing its with the consoles Gateway address.
Anyway, I tried switching my Gateway settings, IP settings, NAT settings all the suggested fixes. worked for a day, then it was worse. Then I tried Bridging the connection between my computer and the LAN ( the Xbox) and then it got even worse.
My FINAL SOLUTION, which worked right away and in two weeks I haven't seen it once, was I had to get a SEPARATE wireless receiver router. it cost like 40 bucks, but it doesn't need a phone line it just receives the signal from my other wireless modem, and it beat spending 100 bucks on X boxs wireless receiver.

Xboxlive is haveing a ton of issues and have been since friday. If you would like to check the status of xboxlive to see when they fix this issue the website is search for status and then click on support. The status of Live is in the upper right hand corner. I hope they get it working i got cod4 just after christmas and on friday night i got booted from a game and havent been able to get a decent game since then.

My son was having the same problem. After trying many of the "fixes" on the internet forums(i.e. - adding to the dmz, opening up ports on the wireless router, enabling UPnP, port forwardng, etc.), I changed the Channel my router (Linksys WRT300N) was broadcasting from ch. 1(2.412 GHz) to ch. 2(2.417 GHz). It worked. Although we use a 5.8 GHz cordless phone system in our home, I realized that many of my close neighbors do use the older 2.4 GHz cordless phone systems. I believe that they were interfering with the time it took to just start/enter a game and the connstant "connection interrupted" msgs. Many of you may be under similar circumstances. If anyone is still having this problem...

I have been having the same problem everyone has been mentioning with losing XP after dropping out of a game etc.
I have tried all the suggestions which have not worked.
The only thing that works for me is (and works around 75% of the time):
-Once you have signed in and are in your match, play until sometime before the game finishes, then just leave the game (rather than signing out in the game or leaving the lobby after the game has finished) it sucks cos you dont get you match bonus but it should just take you back to your private game lobby or whatever, and won't sign you out of xbox live. Then just wait in this lobby for around 10 seconds and the go "Find Match" . It should put you in another match and if your connection drops in the next game you will keep your XP/Rank from the last game.
This can be a bit tedious because you have to leave every match before it finishes (I did stay in the same lobby for a few games, then left half way through - but this did not work as well as when i just left just before the end of each game)

As i said it's a bit tedious but it's the only thing that worked for me. Hope it makes sense ands helps someone out.

To add my comments - We do have a wireless adapter and it does not work either. Also, I noticed most people said they have com cast. Comcast came to our house checked the modem, router, wires out side everything. All working - however the connection interrupted still continues on COD4. So to date - no solutions?

I had this problem for a few weeks and tried everything:
-opening my router ports
-changing the ip address of my router
-using a different xbox on my internet
-taking to xbox customer support FOREVER
-and calling my ISP and asking him wtf
In the end, my ISP figured out it was his fault, after denying it for weeks. If you have this problem chances are your ISP is having problems that it doesn't want to admit or simply doesn't know about, so nag them until the problem is fixed.

After about a year of messing around with setting after setting I finally bought a new modem and got rid of that comcast motorola surfboard modem. I bought a BEFCMU10 on the advice of someone else having this problem and now both of us can actually get online and play.

I contacted Belkin customer support. They had me upgrade firmware to v.5.02.08 for my F5D9230-4 router. I already had it in the DMZ, but I moved it back after the firmware update. I will let you know if I experience further problems.

    Just a followup. The 5.02.xx firmware update (which doesn't download automatically, BTW) seems to have fixed my connection interrupted error. Not one in approximately 20 battles, which was much better than the error occuring almost every battle. I call it a fix for my Belkin.

Here is the issue I have had. My motorolla modem is setup right next to my TV/XBOX/Etc so I can actually see the modem as I play. As I attempt to enjoy my game of Search and Destroy, with say 8 to 9 kills and maybe 2 deaths, (thats well over 700xp with match bonus included!) I get a connection interrupted. I get booted, then I noticed the "Stand By" light on my modem illuminate (the other orange light under the "PC Activity" light. Less than a second later, the entire modem shuts down and it starts the re-boot process. I then get the not connected to xbox live deal and then I throw my controller because all the XP was lost from that match and prior matches where I did not get the connection interruption. I called COX cable and had them upgrade my Internet Connection to the "premium" package with "POWER BOOSTER!!!!!!" and my modem still bugs out on me.

Try porting if you have a linksys, or any router for that matter go to top left corner will be guides by router in bold, then click which model router you have, put in your isp that your 360 has.

ive done the following

xboxlive1 88 to 88 BOTH 192.168. (xbox's isp for the last 3)

xboxlive2 3074 to 3074 BOTH " " " "

DMZ enabled 192.168. (last 3 digits of 360's isp)

Yea, same here... i easily called Microsoft over 2 dozen times regarding this and my NAT, which they referred me to my ISP, who then referred me back to Microsoft. Their customer support technicians are really stupid, about 70-80% of the times i called i couldnt understand what they were saying because i dont understand English with a Spanish/Latin accent that well... why cant Ubisoft and Microsoft work Co-op. and fix the damn problem???

Well, the issue you are experiencing could be caused by slow internet. Even if you have a connection - it may be a slow one that can't keep up with the server. Another reason that this could be happening is the server itself is lagging, but if it happens to you consistantly I would put bets on it being your internet.

what that means is you are playing with someone who has a lag tapper which means they are a few seconds ahead of you when they are in the room for along time or online for a long time thats when youre connection gets interrupted and times out look up lag tappers xbox 360 on the internetit will tell you more happens to me alll the time

Connection Interupted

Its because your isp cannot handle the traffic or its getting lag from the host. It happens to everyone as well as you when the host has a bad connection.
