The DSL light is your actual connection light - the broadband/internet light indicates information about your logon status.

So a flashing DSL means you do not Have Sync, which means no Broadband!

Switch Router off
Change the filter
Do not use extensions - use the master socket
Change the DSL cable from your telephone socket to your router
Reboot computer
Restart Router

If still a flashing light - your BB has not been provisioned yet, or their is a line fault. If you have a telephone connected lift the receiver and listen - are their noises, pops and crackles? If so then call your voice telephone provider - its a PSTN fault.

If no noises, do you have any other digital equipment connected, Satalite, Cable, Fax machine? If so remove them. and restart the router.

If you still have no success - then call your BB provider and tell them your router is not syncing... make sure you have paid your bill :D

If your DSL modem's ppp (Internet) LED is blinking it means it has not connected with your ISP.
Power off the modem for 30 secs and power it up again. If the LEDs do not light up as normal, then check the phone line to the DSL modem.
If you are still having a problem then ring your ISP and tell them that you are having connection problems. They can send a test signal to your DSL modem and determine the fault.

First thing to do is unplug your DSL modem and leave it unplugged for about a minute then plug it back in and see if problem is corrected. If not you should contact your ISP tech support. You could have a bad line from the phone company or bad connection in your house. Also if you have filters installed on your other phones you can have a bad filter that is causing interference and keeping yoiur DSL from working properly. You should go to "Start" > "Run" and type cmd and hit "Enter"
In the command window type ping google.com -t (Enter) This will start a continual ping. If you are getting ping times exceeding 70 - 120 ms that could be a sign your DSL is not functioning properly or if you get packet loss. That is when the ping time doesn't return a time periodically.
