If you burn dvd movies (video files having ".vob" extension and associated dvd files), make sure you burn them as "dvd video", otherwise they might not play in standard dvd players.

For example, when you try to burn dvd files in Nero as a data dvd, mixed mode dvd or a compilation, the program itself will notify you that such a disc may not be playable in a standard dvd player, so you must burn it in "dvd video" mode.

Note that when you select the "dvd video" mode in Nero (i don't know about the other programs though), the standard dvd folders VIDEO_TS and AUDIO_TS are automatically created by the program, you should only place the video files (not any folders or subfolders) into the VIDEO_TS folder created by the program.

If you are already doing it this way, then the problem is obviously somewhere else.

Hope you can get it solved.

regards

Sony dvd player error t99

Hi Nemegraff,
I have a Sony DVP- NC665P dvd player. I burned a dvd movie and noticed I could not play it on my player. I was getting a display code "T99". I believe the "T" stands for time on the dvd.
Anyway, to my surprise, I found out if I press the "top menu" button on my remote, the dvd will start from the movie's main menu screen....then just hit enter or play and the movie will play. My problem is solved. I hope this helps you.
best,
larry

What does unsupported format mean?when downloading/playing video from fromflashdrive in the deck this message appears, unsupported format.

Some dvd players only play .avi files, the cheap ones use a pc dvd drive and will play most files, get a movie encode, ( some are free ) and encode the film into the type your dvd plays, good site to see what dvd's play what files is video help . com

Won't playback copied dvd's, only commercially made ones.

Read here and we can see that other people have both trouble and success running back ups on this device: http://www.videohelp.com/forum/archive/anyone-experienced-with-b-u-s-playing-on-a-sony-dvp-s7000-t283487.html So... That tells us this device is finicky IE it requires a high quality burn. DVD burners have varying levels of accuracy. To improve your burn: -SLOW the burn speed for increased accuracy -USE DVD-R only as it is the most compatible -Use those Sony's DVD-r's at wal-mart or KMART because Sony makes DVR's and everyone else buys them from generic Taiwan manufacturer and relabel I bet this will solve your problem. After you get a successful burn at 2x try 4x then 6 etc.
