- Thanks for the response. I am using the IEEE 1394 link from the camera to the computer. The camera monitor windows displays "DV IN" when the cable is connected, but the computer does not recognize the camera. I also tried several different cables, computers, software, etc. but still no luck. Please help.
(Applicable for Windows XP Operating System only):
As you are using a Windows XP Operating System then you have to install the USB Streaming Driver in the Computer from the supplied Software disk with the Computer.
Check this link for the instruction to transfer video to a Computer using USB Streaming.
Use an i.LINK cable to transfer the video to the Computer. The i.LINK port is also called IEEE 1394 or Firewire port. (An i.LINK is a black D shaped connector with 4 or 6 pins. The type of cable to be used will depend on the i.LINK port of your Computer. The Sony Camcorder will have the 4 pin i.LINK cable and if the computer has the 6 pin i.LINK port, then you may have to use the 4 pin to 6 pin i.LINK Cable). You can use any video capturing software like Windows Movie Maker to transfer the video from the Computer using i.LINK cable.
Refer this link for the instruction to transfer the video to the Computer using i.LINK cable.
