part inside the printer at the end of service

  • Anonymous Jun 14, 2008

The red and green light on my Epson Stylus C46 printer are continuously flashing alternately. The printer will not print. The inks are full. The computer says that the printer needs a service. The printer is not even one year old. This has never happened before. It suddenly came on yesterday.

  • Anonymous Jul 16, 2008

Parts inside your printer are at the end of their service life. See your printer documentation.

  • sue-j-denny Jul 29, 2008

green and red light keep blinking - report on printer states some components at end of their life! Needs servicing - only 3 years old! Have not done anything to resolve problem, because I have no idea what to do with dratted thing that should be functioning for ages yet in my opinion! Where does one take a printer to have it serviced? also nozzle piercing thing in black ink section keeps coming adrift.

printer doesnt want to work out green and red lights keeps on blinking.but it doesnt want to print..

  • Anonymous Apr 19, 2009

hi there, after changing ink cartridges green and red lights are flashing continusely. green light turn off than red light turn on simulteniously.

    i reported this to epson and their reply is;
Epson would like to advise that a part in your product has reached the end of its service life; this is a safety feature so it does not cause serious damage to the product or its surrounds. This part is not a warrantable service; it is a non-user serviceable part that needs to be replaced by a trained service technician.

i also instaled SCC software but doesnt work, SCC main screen shows "error - maintenance request"

if any one exact know than please let me know, cheers

Just use the ssc service utility to reset the cleaning counter.

you can download the ssc service utility from the google and then run it
while in the tray icon, click on protection counter->reset protection counter. a warning will pop up that have you replaced the ink pads then press yes to continue.

that will reset your printer counter and it is ready to print.

just make sure to replace the ink pads in it..

hope this helps

I had this flashing light problem and it was ok after I changed the flex ribbon cable connection from drive section (on the left side)to the moving print head.

SOURCE: Epson stylus c45 (Problem)

If both lights are flashing, it means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink ("protection") counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer. A copy of the service manual is available from a number of sellers - just Google "Epson C45 Service Manual". You will often find them
for sale very cheaply on E-Bay.

if its the "parts are at end of service error" it usuallymeans ink pads are full but don't replace the ink pads install a external waste ink tank instead, then reset the printer using reset program . . search on eBay for epson waste ink tank, search ebay for "Epson Waste Ink Tank" it comes with reset program.

Trouble with my epson stylus c45 printer. PLEASE HELP!?

this is usually caused by clogged print heads, unfortunately epson is still one of few brands that still manufactures most of their printers with the heads built into the machine and thus upon print head clogging the printer must be taken in to be serviced or buy a new printer that does not have the print heads built in but rather built into the ink cartridges. hope this helps.

most problem with printers are dirt inside. if you want to experiment, try opening the printer, usually held by snaps, if accomplished clean all contacts, cables ribbon wires, then reassemble. thats easier said than done.

Epson C46 colour printer green and red lights are flashing....but

Basically your printer says that you need to replace the waste ink pads. If this happens for the first time to this printer you can just reset the counter using SSC Service Utility (http://www.ssclg.com/epson.shtml) or if it happened more than once you shoul first replace the ink pads and then reset the counter or the printer may overflow. That's it.

My printer epson stylus C45 series do not print

If both lights are flashing, it usually means the Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink "protection" counter has exceeded its limit. You can restore your printer to a working condition immediately by using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and use it to reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation.

However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer.

If you decide to have a go at replacing the ink pads yourself, post a new comment to this effect and I will provide further help.

Epson has an interactive troubleshooting guide on their support site. http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/SupportIndex.jsp From the link above, choose your model printer. You will then be brought to the main page of your printer. Then, click on the "interactive help program" link under the Troubleshooting Guide section. Through this, you will be able to find an article describing what all the indicator lights mean and how to possibly resolve the issues.
