On this page I found listed under "Software & drivers" the Firmware Upgrade Software 42PF7220A/37 v1.5.0.0
I downloaded the compressed file and extracted it to a USB Flash Drive.
After you extract the file you will have 2 files...."autorun.upg" and a "readme.txt".
Print out the readme file the delete it off the USB Flash Drive
Make sure the USB Flash Drive has only one file on it (autorun.upg)
Then just follow the instructions from the "readme" file.
The menu screen would come on every 5 minutes or so. It was extremely annoying. Took the advise of the previous post and it is fixed. The firmware can be downloaded from Philips.com where you can find the model of tv and get the update. download onto a zip drive or external hard drive and plug into the USB port on the tv. The tv recognizes and loads update automatically. Good Luck!

I have a 42in Philips Plasma model# 42PF7321D/37. The tv makes the noise like it is going to turn on and the green light turns on, but then it makes the noise like I turned it off and then a red light flashes in the bottom left hand corner where the green one was. Can anyone tell me why?
