Audio Not working.

I tried using ear phones in the audio jack but I don´t hear any voice. But the driver seem to be right. Driver : SoundMax Integrated Digital Audio.

The driver got installed properly. I tried uninstalling and installing the driver but still the problem persists. I am not sure what is the problem.

If any one know the solution please let me know.

Thanks in Advance.

Re: Audio Not working.

I cam accross this post in search of a solution.

Vista has been running flawlessly on my tablet for about 2 weeks, sound and Ibm buttons included.

Earlier today i was waching videos without a problem. Suddenly I can't hear anything. I check settings adjust different things repeadly try Ibm volume buttons with no luck. 99% sure it was directly related to the ibm buttons because after unplugging and replugging the machine to see if i got the loud beeep (which i didn't) after the volume up button worked as if nothing happened.

Now I am scared to use the volume buttons for fear they get stuck in mute again.

Re: Audio Not working.

Make sure in the advanced audio setting the sound is not muted go into your device manager and check and see if there is a yellow question mark by the sound devices if so, Make sure you are online and update the driver there, And for the other guy who asked you to go into device manager and update drivers you should be on your way in no time... Let me know if it works please If not we can figure out another way to fix it for you.. thanks and Happy Holidays

Cannot hear radio broadcast audio

First thing to check is your settings for sound. Go into settings and click on sound . The options are there. Make sure it's not on mute or something similar. Try changing the setting. Next is plug in your earphones in the jack. If that works then your jack is open after you take the jack out. If none of this works then a connection to your internal speaker has come loose or off.

I am not familiar with your unit. Just standard stuff on all tablets is what I am suggesting.

I cant play music or nothing thers no sound on the laptop and i dont no wa speakers i shoulkd get

double check if the volume is on mute there is a certain icon from your keyboard that indicate volume. try holding Fn key then press that volume button to unmute it. make sure also that ther eare no headphone connected as it will disable sound if you are expecting it from speakers. you may also try checking the driver status if you need to reinstall it or update it. simply go to control panel > system > hardware tab > device manager to check audio device there, if the icon has yellow marking on it then that is the problem you just need to reinstall or update the driver for audio by either using the driver disc that came with the system or downloading it from the manufaturers website

No sound in my laptop

There are 4 ways you can download and install audio drivers :

1.From Device Manager

(1).Click Start, type Device Manager in the Start Search box, and then press ENTER.
(2).In the Device Manager dialog box, expand Sound, video, and game controllers.
(3). Right-click the device, and click Scan for hardware changes.
You should see a message that a hardware device is being installed. Additionally, the uninstalled audio device is now present in Device Manager.
(4).Close the Device Manager dialog box, and then determine whether you can hear sound.

2.From the motherboard or installation CD - If your computer came with a motherboard CD, the audio drivers should be on the disk.

3. From manufacturer's website - If you don’t have the CD go to your computer manufactures web page to search for updated sound driver software. Read the instructions on the download pages carefully before installing.

4. Microsoft's Windows Update feature : If there are no updated sound drivers available, use Microsoft's Windows Update feature. Connect to the Internet and try the following items until Windows Update opens:

(1).Click Start, and then click Windows Update (if it is listed).
(2).Click Start, click Settings, and then click Windows Update (if it is listed).
(3).Click Start, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update (if it is listed).
(4).Go to Microsoft's Web site and click Windows Update from the Downloads menu.

IBM x41 1866-9GU does not have an audio device (sound card) installed. I need to find the right one that will work with this laptop and get it ordered and delivered. Do you know which model I need?

Are you certain it is not just a driver issue? If the right audio driver is not installed, the errors will also indicate that there is "no audio device installed".

More info here:

If you have the original CD< you can look for the audio drivers there. If not, check the IBM support website, or use a driver finder program to auto-detect and download the right driver.

Volume not working

You have lost your audio driver. Go to manufacturers web site, help and support center, and download the new driver. That should fix your problem

Toshiba Satellite 1905

First, try pluging in an exteral mic to check the mic itself is not broke. Next Go to the device manager to check for driver problems (control panel, system, Hardware look for yellow ?'s) Check control panel, Sounds and Audio, audio, sound recording, volume. There are just too many ways to mess with the sound settings, and they often seem to just mute themselves!
Good luck
