Unable to hear sound

I have just had my PC rebuilt and I am unable to hear any sounds from my speakers. I have pHilips speaker attached but I cannot find any s/w that came when I bought the PC. Can you point me in the right direction as to where I am going to find any drives that I may need - I cannot remember if I had to install any when I originally set up the PC

Then check ur hardware profile for any DRIVER issues for ur sound device.. if it is thr, then try to RE-INSTALL the driver from the DRIVER RESOURCE from ur MOTHER BOARD, DRIVER CD>. or check the driver details in NET...

windows? on the task bar look for the little speaker near the time/date. click on it to reveal your sound level adjustment, click to change the volume and the little disabled speaker will change to enabled. if no little speaker there, click on control panel, then sound, then on plaback tab right-click on speakers and then levels tab. adjust volume and this will enable the speakers.

I can hear sound in head phone where as i am unable to hear sound from speakers

You must set the sound output on your computer either through the motherboard sound controller or through the windows control panel. In each of these sections will be a speaker set-up control allowing you set up the type of sound you want to come out of your computer. Headphones only, speakers only, Headphones and speakers. Hope this helps you with your problem.

No sound.

Green is for audio. Make sure you have the proper audio drivers. Check the device manager ofr yellow exclamation points. If so you should do a "Windows Update" if it doesn't have updated drivers for your machine try using google to find Packard Bell's support web page.

Can't hear sound

re-install drivers, if it works, ok otherwise check speakers on other system. if the speakers are ok, then the sound section of mother board might gone out of order, need an extra PCI sound card.

Sound is not working on my hp laptop

I had the same problem; my laptop's speakers suddenly stopped working but I could still use the headphones and sound was fine.

I played around a while and searched the net; and I got them to work:

Open Control Panel- Sound, Speech, Audio Devices-------->
1) Audio Tab
2) Under 'Sound Playback' hit Advanced
3) At the bottom where it has Speaker Setup change it to "Laptop Stereo Speakers" (mine was initially on "Desktop Stereo Speakers" for some odd reason)

Problem solved, Thank God (Alhamdulilah)!

Hope it works out for you :)
