Question about Audio Players & Recorders

1 Answer

TECHNICS AMPLIFIER MY AMP MADE A REALLY LOUD BANG. I GOT SUCH A FRIGHT I IMMEDIATELY STOPPED THE CD AND TURNED OFF THE SYSTEM. A WEEK LATER I TRIED IT AGAIN - SAME STORY BUT NOT IT WILL NOT PLAY SOUND AT ALL. THE RED POWER LITE COMES ON ON THE FRONT OF THE AMP BUT NOT THE ORANGE LITE. THERE IS POWER GETTING IN BUT BEYOND THAT - NOTHING ! I'M DISTRAUGHT AND NOT LOOKING FORWARD TO BEING RIPPED OFF WITH REPAIR COSTS.  ANY SUGGESTIONS AS TO WHAT IT COULD BE AND WHAT I'M MAYBE LOOKING AT COST WISE.

No sound from the left channel of my technics sl-b35 turntable

First of all remove the wires to the cartridge. With the amp on, touch each of the wires to the cartridge with your finger. one at a time. On one you should hear a loud buzz on the left and on another a loud buzz on the right.
If you get no loud buzz on the left. There is something wrong with either the connections between the deck, or the pre-amp of the amplifier. This will not effect any other function on the amp such as tape or cd.
If you do get a loud buzz on the left, check the cartridge connection or replace the cartridge.

please bring a good contact cleaner from radio shack near you and apply the spray over the socket of the headphone(the place where you put your headphone jack)take headphone jack out and apply spray in and insert the jack in and out many times.-also check your system setup and confirm that all speaker are on- no mute button pressed-no cable is disconnected.

Technics cd player

It sounds like maybe your CD player is now connected to a different input on your amplifier. In such a case, if you turn the amp right up you will just about be able to hear any other sources that are connected & sending audio to the amp.

Turn the amp down to a sensible volume (to avoid possibility of heart attack from the shock of the loud music suddenly returning!), and flick through the other inputs on your amp. If this doesn't help, check your connections & make sure the CD player isn't connected to the tape in or out on your amp.
