Question about Panasonic CT-36SX31 36" TV
I have a 36" Panasonic Flat Screen TAU that was made in mexico in 2002 by the way of canada (Go Figure). When you plug it in you can use the remote to turn it on but it just clicks and crackles for a second and goes off or it seems the remote won't do anything it has to be unpluged for a few seconds and if it is plugged back in it will do the same thing again. I took off the back to check it out and blew the dust out and found that if I tap on a relay marked RL801 it clicks and does the same thing but does not come on. When I tap on the relay it lets off a tiny spark. Copuld the problem be the relay or is it preventing a bigger problem ? Could the Fly Back # PVRM081A1-2603 be the problem? Please Help Me So I may repair myT.V. and Thank You for your time. P.S. I also need a parts guide and repair manual for circuit board # 2NP2AH027.
I have bought the same tv used from someone for what sounds like the same problem... if the cable input was being used the TV would click off after a few mins.... thus leaving them to think the TV was only good for gaming; by using the RCA inputs. ... of course you can always use the same RCA inputs for cable tv by using a vcr or digital cable box to tune your stations... how ever it turnd out that the CT-36SX31CE has two cable inputs (ANT1 and ANT2) . when i used ANT2 the TV works fine, leaving me to belive these are two seperate tuners. However inorder to use ANT2 input u must turn it on in the menu. (thus leaving ANT1 off)...do this by pushing "action" button, then "setup" , then "prog chan" then goto "antenna" and change it to ANT2, exit by pushing the action button a few times. Now when selecting different inputs using the TV/VIDEO button the ANT2 input will take the place of ANT1.
hope this helps someone.. :)

I have received this TV from my boss who said it was done in, so I took it to the audio store I deal with and it was repaired. It was a heated power problem.
Panasonic 36" Tau 2002 year made, MDL CT36Sx31CE
Problem I have is that there is no remote for it and I cannot get a universal one to work with the tv system.
Is there a place in Brampton, Ontario that I can get one for this TV??

Check F801 for open and if open replace with 6.3a 250v slo-blo...
If open and replacement slo-blo opens immediately suspect audio Ic2301 Part Number # An5277. Ic shorts and drags down 30v line stressing main fuse.
Always replace C832 using a 35v 220mf. (original is16v/220mf).
Also, another possibility could be the deguass thermistor D808 P/n# D4ddf1r50001 but try the above first.
