What kind of plug in are you using to hook to you computer a Usb, If so go into your device manager and look into the usb settings when the dvd is plugged in and turned on, Now find the device you plugged in you should see it in the under the usb tab and open the plus + sign then make sure you are online and try to update there see what happens, If that don't work go into your control panel and go to the add and remove hardware and use that to install drivers for the dvd writer it should install them there If not let me know we will fix it somehow if that don't work, Thanks for reading my solution and Have a Happy Holidays

I need to Know what does it say in My Computer when you look, can you see the Drive there, If not You have to go into your device manager and see if you see it there under diskdrives If you don't see it in there and there is a yellow question mark you will have to install new drivers from the net, by going to your computer manufacture and find out what your driver is and install it from the sight, if you do see it and there is a yellow question mark open properties and update drivers make sure you are online and the dvd drive is plugged in and on, If your bios is not seeing your drive you will have to go into your bios by F2 or delete key on bootup and go into onboard devices and make sure the cd/dvd is selected in the number 2 position, That should get you going if not something is seriously wrong and you may want to contact your manufacturer, I sure hope that Helps

I have a acer travelmate c110 and I am trying to connect to a wireless connection but the wireless switch is not on and I do not know how to turn it on. Please help.

There should either be a physical switch somewhere on the side of the laptop or by using the FN + a certain key to activate it. Look at the F keys for an image similar to wireless then try that. If the above does not work, its probably turned off in the BIOS. Access BIOS and turn it on.

How to break bios password

Continue with a blank password field, since none was manually set.

If that doesn't work, locate the BIOS battery and remove it for several minutes and replace it, that should flash the BIOS to default.

Acer travelmate C110 & Acer projector X11602

Hi Andrew,

you can try changing the output of the travelmate, to VGA Or External Device.
ensure you have the correct output lead from computer to projecter. Then on your keyboard you should have a button that changes the output. i.e numerical 5-6-7 or 8. usually says LCD/VGA et,c.
failing this try altering the output in the systems bios setup.
you can enter this by pressing F2 Or esc at bootup.
if your unsure, and none of this helps, i,d suggest visiting acers site. and downloading the user manual(s)

Recovery Problems

The Tablets can be quite difficult to perform a reimage or recovery on as most bios versions on them do not recognise a USB device as bootable.

My recommendation would be to obtain a Bootable Floppy disk that contains an imaging program. (GHOST. Powerquest etc).

From here you may have 2 options available to you.
1. Attempt to recover using the hidden partition on your hard drive.

2. Recover from an image located via the network. You will need to ensure that a driver for your network card is also bundled into this install. Once this boothdisk has been created you will need to create a "shared folder" on another PC which contains the image you require. Once the bootdisk has loaded point yourself to the shared folder.

Lastly - You may be able to find an updated bios version that allows boot from USB device.

Some keys of Acer Travelmate C 310 is not working

Replace the keyboard easily available for cheap. Get full manual at Acer website but replacement is easy, be careful of the clips holding the connection to the motherboard, don't remove just slide upward to release..
