Sleep Sleep is a mode that the computer enters after being inactive for a set amount of time. Commonly, this mode will turn off a device or set it into a stand-by
Engergy star No data is lost when computer components enter a low-power mode, ... keyboard would get the computer out of this mode. Also see: Power Definitions, Sleep

This should wake your computer, Good Luck/Please dont for get to Vote.Thank you.

My old (vintage 2000) CRT monitor (Dell) occasionally goes into sleep mode and nothing I do will "wake it up".

You could try turning it off and back on again when it does that, or pressing a few of the buttons on it.

If you would like to prevent it from going into sleep in the first place, you could try changing the settings in the control panel, turning off the monitor before you leave (to prevent it having a chance to go to sleep mode), or just shut down your whole computer before you leave. That is probably the best option, because it is a lot healthier for your computer to just have your computer shut off instead of leaving it on all the time. It may also save some money on your power bill, depending on how many things you have with it and how much power it actually uses.

My monitor keeps saying monitor going to sleep waht do u o

It shows that the monitor is going to the power saver mode.It is not a problem of the monitor. This happens when there are no signals received on the monitor. It turns back to the normal mode when a signal is received on it.

If your laptop won't respond to the wake up keypress you can hold the power button down for five seconds and your laptop will shut down. Then you can reboot it. You might want to go to the screen saver power options and prevent it from going to sleep if the problem persists.

Delay in Monitor display once the system goes in sleep mode

Instead of sleep mode, tyr hibernate. It is generally faster except the whole computer shuts down. When you power back up, you're exactly where you were. Mine takes about 30 seconds.

SVA Monitor stuck in Analog Mode or Sleep Mode

Actually it was quite easy. I rebooted my computer in "safe mode" by restarting it and pressing the F8 key. At the start up windows gives you an option to toggle down to "enable VGA mode" and select it. After that, my computer recognized my monitor and it has worked fine ever since!
