Hi -
My network was working just fine until my modem died. Then I purchased a Motorola 2210-02-1002.... the Modem has an IP address of 192.168.1.1 and the router has a IP address of 192.168.1.254.... is this a matter of changing one of the addresses to match?
Thanks,
Leslie

- Still don't understand from your reply what to do.
My network with the linksys 192.168.1.1 worked fine until my modem died. I purchased the at&t motorola 2210-02-1002 modem. I installed as directed and got my internet back up and working. I cannot get my internet connected to my network. there seems to be a disconnect with the new modem and the linksys device. I am wondering if I can just change one of the IP addresses.... or do you have a different solution?
Thanks,
Leslie

- Hi -
My network works fine, but my modem died. I purchased a motorola 2210, installed it and got my internet working again. The trouble is when I reconnect it to the linksys device, the linksys device is not recognizing the modem. So several devices that are linked to the router no longer work. The modem has an IP address of 192.168.1.254 and the router has an IP address of 192.168.1.1 Do I change the IP addresses to match or is there another solution to getting the two modem and the router to talk to each other?Sep 22, 2009

How do you reset the router? I believe I already listed that the router model number is BEFSR41 Ver 3. Also, how do I configure it? How do I find the manual?

- okay.... next problem... how do I reconfigure the router? The manual says to be connected to the internet, but that's just the problem.... the router isn't speaking to the internet.... what now?

- How do I change any setting in the router if I cant' connect it to the internet. By the way... I already had the router... as I have said in earlier posts, the modem died and I had to replace it to get back on the internet... but the internet wont' work through the router. Therefore, I am connecting my computer directly to the internet. I wouldn't care so much except my Voip phone won't work without the router, so I need to figure out how to change settings on my router without getting on the internet... any suggestions?Sep 23, 2009
- I'm getting pretty frustrated here... I have gotten answers that don't address the issue... and I've had to restate the issue at least three times... I'll state it one last time and if it is not answered then I'm done with your service (unsatisfactorily).
I have a network with the Linksys router BEFSR41 Ver 3... my modem died... I HAD to get the one that my service provided which was the Motorola 2210. I have reset my entire system twice... please don't ask me to do that again. The issue as I understand it is that the Linksys has a IPS address of 192.168.1.1 and the modem has an IPS address of 192.168.1.254. I also understand all I have to do is to reconfigure the router's IP address to match the modem. Unfortunately the way the manufacturer says to do this is through the internet.... ARRRRRRG If the router was talking to the internet I wouldn't be asking for help. How do I reconfigure the router if it isn't speaking to the modem? Can I hook it up directly? Should I try to find a neighbor who has an older modem so I can reconfigure? What other suggestions does your service offer? Is there a way to reconfigure the modem instead? If I do that and it doesn't work... how do I get back onto the internet?
