If go to start then run. That will open up a box for you. Type in that box cmd. When Dos opens type in ipconfig When you see the default gateway, writhe down those numbers. It should start with 192.168.?.?. Type that into the address bar once you've typed exit to make DOS disappear. This should take you sto your router page. Then you can start configuring your router.I hope that helps

Earthlink lists this as the number to call when you purchase someone else's router 1.800.327.8454. Hopefully if they are not the right people that can direct you to the correct people to call when you have earthlink's equipment.

I hope this helps.

Zoom X7n Dsl 2/2 Modem/router/gw DSL light will not stop blinking - trying to connect with Earthlink

Earthlink is not your local telephone company? You would need to contact your local service provider. If earthlink set up your DSL thru your local telephone company, you may have to have them contact them. Does your local phone to you or do you subscribe thru what they call a CLEC?

How do i hook up my desk top i plug it in to the router but get no internet

Make sure you internet modem is plugged into the proper input in the back, as well as making sure the computer is also plugged into the correct input.

The internet socket(where the modem goes) is normally separate from the rest of the ports.

Has your modem been hard reset recently? if so, it may require that you bridge the modem out to work with the router- ESP. if you use Verizon DSL. If so, contact your ISP, and ask for assistance in bridging out the modem.

Are you trying to set up the router.
You can do it manually without the CD.
Make sure that your computer is able to go online
through the modem.
If your computer is able to go online through the
modem
Then you need to connect the computer to the
router and the modem to the router.
open the set up page of the router and change the
settings of the router according to the ISP.

You will need to check the settings of the router. You are able to go online when you connect the computer directly to the modem. Your internet service provider is DSL. You can try to reconfigure the router. Press the reset button on the router for 30 seconds. release it. unplug the power to the router. plug it back in. wait for 1 minute and try to reconfigure the router. Hi sheena -Is your desk top hooked up throgh the router? If not, plug your modem into the wan port on the router. The router should have come with a couple of short cables, most likely blue and yellow. Use the blue to connect your modem to your router. You can check the manual just to be sure. Use the ethernet cable that had been connecting your desk top to your modem, and plug into one of the wired ports on the router. I imagine you'll be using wireless for your laptop. Make sure that it is on. Put the cd in your desk top and run from there. Follow the directions. If you need more help just add a comment and I'll be glad to assist you further. If this solves your probleb PLEASE rate this as fixed. Remember. Need help? Just holler Sheena.

Router

Hello debbie2, Ok areyou using DSL or Cable. Do this for me takea picture of the equipment you are talking about this will give me an idea of what to connect to what, because right now I am thinking this is how your system is connected. From DSL line to DSL Modem to 2Wire router to PC or From Coaxial cable to Cable modem to 2 wire router to PC That is what I am thinking. You are saying your problem is that the modem is not recogized by the router this could only be true if the modem is not connecting to the router at layer 2 of the OSI model (data link) I would ask you to reset your router to see if it connects to the modem and the pulls an address from the ISP. First I want you to log in to your router via the web page and find out what login and pass word you use to connect to your ISP. To reset your router press and hold the reset button until the lights on the front of the router blink. then log into your router again and restore the login and password. Once this is done check to see if you now have a connection between you and your ISP. Thank you, Shuttle83
