Try using wireless speakers, as technology is getting more wireless, and this can work out better in two ways: You get to play sounds wirelessly, and the sound is fixed. If you don't want to give up wired, you should probably contact Apple. I am sure that they can help!

Unplugging the gamecube remote from the wii resolved a similar issue for me - if that doesn't work e-mail [email protected] and state your issue - chances are they will be able to resolve it.
