Connect your iPod Touch to the computer you usually sync it with. When you disconnect your iPod, it should now be unlocked.

  • Step 2 If Step 1 does not work, you have to restore your iPod Touch. Be advised that restoring your iPod Touch returns it to the original factory settings. This means that all your songs and files will be deleted and lost. You can resync your files to your iPod from iTunes once you have finished restoration. Connect your iPod to your computer and open iTunes. Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes before proceeding.
  • Step 3 In the left navigation panel in iTunes, select your iPod under the "Devices" section. Click the "Summary" tab and select "Restore."
  • Step 4 When iTunes prompts you about backing up your data, click "Back Up." In the following window, click "Restore."
  • Step 5 After the restore process completes, you will see the Apple logo on the screen of your iPod. Leave your iPod connected to your computer until it shows up again on the iTunes navigation panel.
  • Step 6 Your iPod touch is now unlocked. In iTunes you will be able to setup your iPod. Select the backup you made in the drop-down menu to restore your data files. Click "Continue" to finish the restoration

My ipod touch will not play in shuffle mode plays a couple of tracks then stops

you might have reset to shuffle again

The iPod's shuffle feature lets you randomize playback of albums, songs or even your entire music library. You may also find this feature useful if you want to listen to forgotten tracks in your library or discover songs you haven't listened to yet. Disabling the shuffle feature will return playback of a song list to its standard consecutive order. You can enable and disable the shuffle feature at any time.

Navigate to the main menu. Select "Settings." Scroll to the "Shuffle" option. Select "Songs" or "Albums." If you select "Songs," the iPod Classic will shuffle the songs on whatever song list you listen to. If you select "Albums," the iPod Classic will play all songs of an album you select in order and then randomly select another album. Navigate to the playlist or album to which you want to listen. Play a song to initiate the shuffle. b> iPod Nano and iPod Touch Tap the "Songs" icon on your nano home screen. If you are using an iPod Touch, open the "iPod" application. Navigate to the song list, playlist or album you want to play. Tap the "Shuffle" icon at the top of the list to activate the feature.

    How to unlock it

How to Unlock an Apple iTouch

Although locking your iPod Touch prevents accidental touch commands, the feature also prevents you from accessing your media and applications while the device is locked, according to the Apple site. The lock code is the 4-digit code that was created when the passcode lock was first enabled, and displays a passcode menu prompt on the iPod Touch's screen when the "Home" or "Power" button is pressed and the unlock bar is slid across the screen.

    Instructions
1 Push the "Home" button on the iPod Touch's screen, or push the "Power" button on top of the device to show the home screen.
2 Slide your finger on the iPod Touch's unlock bar.
3 Enter the 4-digit passcode using the on-screen keypad to unlock the device. If you cannot remember the passcode, plug the dock-connector cable into the iPod Touch and plug the other end into your computer's USB port. According to Apple, the iPod Touch will automatically unlock after it is connected to your computer.

I dont remember my code for my ipod touch. any suggestions?

    Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you need to unlock your iPod Touch just follow the simple steps below.

Connect your iPod to the primary computer you use it with (the first one iPod synced with), and open iTunes. When you disconnect iPod from the computer, it will no longer be locked.

If you can't unlock iPod using either [the code or connecting it to the computer you use to manage its songs]. You can restore your iPod to factory settings using iPod Updater.

Please note that this will erase all data on your iPod. Afterwards, you can add your music and data back to your iPod.

If you want to change the primary computer that your iPod is associated with, do this:

    1. Restore your iPod. Warning: The restore process cannot be undone. All of your songs and files will be deleted. Always make a backup of your important data.

    2. Connect your iPod to the computer that you want to be the primary computer.

    3. Open iTunes and synchronize.

If you have questions please let me know. Thanks for using Fixya

My Ipod Touch locked me out for 20959986 minutes. What do I do??

The iPod touch is disabled when the incorrect unlock code is entered too many times. The time the iPod makes you wait increases each time an incorrect unlock code is entered.

There are two ways you should be able to unlock the iPod.
First, connect the iPod to the computer it was last synced with. After iTunes recognizes the iPod, you should be able to enter your unlock code and unlock the iPod.

If the first method doesn't work or you don't remember your unlock code, then do this:
    1) Turn the iPod off.
    2) Hold down the Home button and connect the iPod to the computer it was last synced with.
3)Release the Home button when the iTunes image appears of the iPod's screen.
4)Wait for iTunes to recognize the iPod and then follow the onscreen directions to restore the iPod.

If neither method works, you will need to contact Apple Customer Support.

I accidentally got a password lock and cant remember it.

Use the computer that you originally used, and open up itunes this should allow you to reset the password and resync your data. If you use a computer that was not used to sync it you will be able to unlock it but the ipod will be wiped.

    Hope this helps
