Question about Microsoft Windows Server Standard 2003 for PC
Basically because network file access to files on local networks (or geographically convienent locations) can speed access and or distribute network load this feature supports the creation and maintenence of multiple copies of data to facilitate timely access for a geographically distributed set of users. Depending on the size and user requirements this could be as close as replication between two buildings for higher volume use or as far as Europe or Asia for lower volumes of use to minimize internet traffic on could be relatively narrow and costly communication links between the continents.
