I tried to install a game on my CD drive and the CD got stuck in the drive and won't come out.

Have you tried the tiny little hole very near the slot of your CD drive? A small straightened paperclip stuck into the hole and pressed in might push the drive open for you. Many people don't know that little hole is for that purpose.

if you have warranty - contact the repair center, if not, open the case and check if the power plug of the Cd/DVD drive is all the way in. unplug it an then plug it back in again.
If that doesn't help - buy a new drive. they are like 30$ nowdays and install it the same way in like the one that doesn't work was installed.

install a virtual drive and configure your CD installer on a virtual drive. Once you want to play the game you must mount the virtual drive of your CD so that it will not ask for any CD. try to download Alcohol for the virtual drive software.

It won't run the cd when you put the cd in your computer? Try putting the cd in. Then go to Start > My Computer > look for the drive that the cd is in ( it will have a picture of the sims ) > double click that > then double click the .exe file (typically is called "install.exe" or "sims.exe". This should run the installation and then you're set.

It is not completely clear if you mean large PC games or if you mean small PC games.

By small PC games I mean games similar to the games that come with Windows and that appear in the 'All Programs -> Games' folder. Such as 'Free Cell', 'Hearts' or 'Solitaire'.

By large games I mean games like 'World of Warcraft' or 'Mortal Combat'.

Also, do you want to install the games on your Flashdrive or store them there?

If you want to store a large game on your flash drive. Place the CD/DVD with the game on it in your CD/DVD drive and insert your Flashdrive in a USB port.

Open 'WIndows Explorer' or 'My Computer'. Locate the CD/DVD drive that you inserted the game disk in (most likely your D: drive).

In the 'Edit' menu select 'Select All' and then in the 'Edit' menu select 'Copy'.

Then locate the Flashdrive in 'WIndows Explorer' or 'My Computer'. And in the 'Edit' menu select 'Paste'.

While this will copy the files from your game's CD/DVD disk to your Flashdrive you may or may not be able to install the game from your Flashdrive.

You can use this same procedure to copy small games to your Flashdrive from your Hard Drive.
You will need to know where on your hard drive they are located. And they may or may not run from your Flashdrive.

Also you may be able to install and run games from your Flashdrive, When you run the Setup program from you game disk you will usually be given the option to select a alternative location to install the game.
Select your Flashdrive at that point and it may install correctly to your Flashdrive. If it does you should be careful to always use the same USB port or the game won't run.

To install this game follow these steps.
1. Put the CD/DVD in your computer (If you have a DVD version of the game and no DVD drive it won't work.) 2. The disk should be read and you can click on the autoplay/install option. If this doesn't happen go to my computer and double click the cd drive with the game icon on it. 3. Click install and follow the on screen instructions. You will need a CD key which is provided in the game case and it is usually located on the back of the instruction manual.

Good morning! please try to check from the Device Manager if your CD drive is enabled & working properly, if not we have to reinstall the driver, then after reinstalling the driver if still it doesn't read the inserted CD, then try to install a new CD Drive unit -if it works then the previous CD drive unit is defective. best regards

install the game and when it gets to the install on C:\nancy drew click browse and choose program files then install there the game will then run but requires the cd to be in the drive

Update Acer drivers. I lost 1 USB on my Acer. This resolved the issue. After fixing it change settings to allow automatic updates.

if you are saying you dont know how to install a game without an auto run feature??

then:

press start menu bottom left
press computer sixth up on the right
double click on your dvd drive
then look for a file that has somthink like

autorun.exe
or install.exe
