Amana side by side fridge and freezer not cold.The model #ASD2624HES I have done some research and I think it might be the relay switch or the compresser.If anyone had has this problem with this model fridge please help.I can't afford a repair man to come out.The fridge is only 7-9 yrs old

Generally the capacitor doesn't need to be replaced. I think that this part number contains both. 67005560. Est.$32.00. Any appliance repair parts house. I want you to look at the label on the compressor. Does it have a picture of an Indian that says Tecumseh? If it does, don't waste your money on the part. Put it towards a new refrigerator. Sorry.

hmm, is the freezer ok? what motor is constantly running? is there frost on the back side of the freezer?

that sound is the relay/overload. it is trying to start the compressor. the problem is either that relay or the compressor itself

Make sure this fan is running. You may have to hold the door switch in for it to run. There is a flap you adjust with the fridge temp. control. Make sure it's opening and closing when you adjust the fridge temp.
The problem could be the electronic control if you have one or the mechanical linkages.

If the evaporator coils behind the back panel of the freezer are icing up because of auto defrost failure that will stop the circulation of cold air and eventually affect the freezer too.

check defrost timer, defrost heater, defrost thermostat. In most newer models the timer has been replaced by an electronic control board. If the heater and thermostat are ok it’ll be the control.

You will be able to hear it when you open the freezer door and hold the door switch in.It is located behind the rear panel inside the freezer. The fan should be running when the compressor is running. If it is running make sure the damper(vent) to the fridge side is not blocked by ice and that the damper door is open.

its most likley the compressor if you wire the compressor independently and get the same sound then you will have to replace it

Thre is a fan inside the freezer which circulates the cold air around both the fridge and the freezer compartments.
You should be able to feel cold air blowing around the inside, particularly at the top of the freezer.
If the defrost thermostat fails open, the internal fan (depending on freezer) will stop and this can be the cause of the freezer being warm at the top and no ice.
You say the bottom of the freezer is blowing cold, but are you sure its blowing, as it can feel like a cold blow. Of course the fan could have failed or may be the defrost heater itself.
