Re: Yamaha RX-V461 receiver audio

Disconnect the unit from the mains at the wall socket. Leave powered down for 5 mins to ensure a good reset and turn unit on again and see what happens. If there is still no life. Check for failed fuses inside amp. ALWAYS RELACE FUSES WITH THE SAME RATING AND TYPE.

Have a Sony 32" Bravia TV & Yamaha RX-V5000 Receiver. Unable to get the sound to come from the Stereo speakers connected to the RX-V5000 if watching TV. However, can get the Radio to play through the TV...

You probably want to connect the av Audio output from your tv and connect to the RX-V5000. The audio that you are getting from Radio through the tv is probably coming from the output of the RX-V5000 coming to your tv, to which the desiredd route is the other way.

The Outputs at the back should be labeled to tell you which channels are inputs or outputs.

I have a Yamaha RX-385 receiver. I want to increase the number of speakers I can use from the receiver. I am considering buying a speaker selector that says it can connect 4 sets of speakers I can run to...

This speaker selector is standard accessory equipment for home audio equipment -- just follow the instructions with the unit.

The speaker selector unit has circuitry which prevents the amp from being overloaded by connecting too many speakers in parallel to the receiver. The receiver will have to be run at a higher volume level to drive all the additional speakers at the same volume as two sets of speakers, but this will not damage the amp in so doing.

I would like to hook up my amp to my pc or laptop what extensions do i use and what setting do i put it on to receive sound? It's a JVC RX-884V

If you computer has only analog audio outputs, you could use one of the audio components input , turntable, cassette or CD player input, for this you'll need a cable called " Y ", it's called this way because its shape, in one end you have two white and red RCA plugs which are connected to amplifier, in the other end you have a 3.5mm stereo plug that connects to your computer audio output, preferable the line audio output. If you have digital audio outputs from your computer, you can use the coaxial or optical inputs, the first requires a digital coaxial cable RCA plug both ends and the second an optical fiber Toslink cable.

Audio from laptop to yamaha amp (rx-v18oo)to sony lcd

you will need a 3.5mm TRS minijack to stereo RCA (red & white)lead.
Connect the headphone-out of the laptop to a line input on the reciever - one of the following inputs should work: CD, CD-R in, Tape in. Do not connect to the Phono input
set the output volume of your laptop about 50% to avoid distortion.
As for connecting the amp to the LCD, it really depends what inputs your screen has, but if you can- run HDMI.
