Question about Sharp CD-BA200 CD Shelf System
I have a Sharp Model CD-BA 200 Mini Component Stero system Serial# 01080377 and when I want to use the CD feature I get a 0306 Error Message, and this feature doesn`t work.
The unit powers up and the other features work fine, so here`s the question what is my unit trying to tell me?

I've been messing with mine because it says no disc and I messed it up so it started saying this error. Unscrew the screws around the top (4 screws) and slide off the top cover. The small black rectangular box that sits over the eye/laser can be removed carefully by compressing the clips. Then the cd tray can be removed. I figured out this error was coming up because I had the tray out of alignment... so try to see if that's the problem with yours... also the eye itself slides (the entire mechanism it's on... slides away from and towards the place where the cd sits to be lifted and read) and it should be as close as possible to the area that lifts the cd. Sorry if this isn't making sense... trying to explain in the best way possible. The tray being out of alignment causes that error though.

Actually, this kind of stereo system has a lot of problem on belts, the belts of cassette mechanic system, the belts of CD mechanic system, they are very easy to go away (loose), and lead to such kind of error message, the other problem is the cd lens which is very easy to become weak, but this one can be cured by adjusting the resistor near the lens.

Follow up, I called Sharp USA @1-800-237-4277 and spoke to a gentleman there and he said that with this error message the unit had to goto a Sharp Repair Depot to be fixed, so since shipping charges plus what ever it costs to repair the unit will cost more than a new one mine on the curb.
