The door jamb switch might need a pad placed on the door side. Often seat belts will dent the door causing to big of a gap and the light will go on and off.

SOURCE: door ajar light and auto locks keep going on and off while drivin

It sounds like there is a short somewhere. Either a bad ground, pinched wire going from the door to the fuse box, or a possibly a bare wire shorting out onto something. You say that the door adjar light and the door locks are affected. Check the door switch and make sure that it isn't broken, shorted out or sticking. Function test it. If you disconnect the door switch and take a test drive does the problem still exists? Yes? Disconnect the other side. Did that cure the problem? Yes? Replace as necessary. No? The problem isn't in your door switch(s). So that much has been ruled out. These are just some areas to start trouble shooting. At first I immediately thought "Door Lock Switch," but when you mentioned that the Door Ajar light keeps going on along with the light then it leads me away from the Controls and more towards the Door light Switch usually in the jam of the door, but you didn't mention the year, make and model, so location of the switch is obscure. If the door locks are switching on and off and the door adjar light is in harmany with it then make sure the door is secure, not loose when closed allowing the door adjar switch to break the connection. These are the areas I would investigate first. Is there a significant amount of slop in the door when you push and pull on the door like it isn't secure? These are some areas to take into consideration when trouble shooting.

Good luck. I hope this helps narrow things down for you.

My Altezza is a Lexus type IS 300 and 1998 model. I am having a problem with the open door light on the dash board. It keeps coming on as though one door is open giving that open door sound.

the switch on one of your doors is just barely making contact and shutting the signal off when the door is closed. Button Switches are commonly found on the Door pillars

Interior lights flicker on and off with warning that doors are open sign on dashboard comes on at same time

Open each door (one at a time) with the car running and parked.
Look for the small contact switch that tells the car the door is open/shut.
See image for location.
Press that switch in firmly and watch the dash to see if the light comes on while you are pressing.
This will tell you which one of the switches is bad.

The door light keeps coming on even if all doors are shut

You might need to shut the doors harder. It may be a defective latch on the doors or a bent striker on the frame where the latch engages. You can try spraying some Wd or similar into the door latches. If you know which one is bad, remove, clean and lube it. You can also replace it with a new one or, jump the wires on the defective latch. Good luck!

My door ajar light keeps coming on along with my dome light but all doors are closed. If I open and shut the passanger door it goes off for awhule and then starts again.

Each door has a door ajar switch in the latch. You can either take some WD40 lube each latch opening and shutting each one 4 to 5 times after spraying, or you can replace the switch

My door ajar light keeps coming on an the inside of the door panel lights stay on to an my battery gets low an i have to jump it what can i do

Check the door switch in the door jamb where the door hinges are located. You may have a bad switch. If you can see the tab for the door switch depress it with your finger and see if the door and interior lights shut off. Check each switch on each door until you find the bad one.

One of the doors is probably not shutting tight enough. When the light is on and all doors are closed, have someone walk around the car and push in on each door. When the light goes out, that is the door that needs adjusting. Adjust the lock so that the door closes tighter. Let me know if you have questions.

My dome light will not shut off. If I close the

sounds like a faulty door switch ...when you close the door it will close the switch for a seconds as it makes contact from it being shut , but then immediately comes back on because it is not making a complete contact from the door to the switch

try holding the switch all the way closed until the light goes out to begin it it stays out you will have found your clue

it may be occurring on more than one door switch as well ..i had the same issue many times and i was also able to add a washer behind the area where the switch makes contact with the door there was a plastic door screw i merely added a washer to make up the difference

over time and use and being made of plastic on most they bend / wear out over use
but try that to begin and see if this is 1st your issue ...note it may take a few minutes to go off as some of them take that long to go out .

...good luck and i hope this is all that is causing this as its an easy fix
