After getting clarification from Fixya I can pass the links below to you to check yourself
Some players are harder than others to do this but you may want to try here or here
Comments:
Toshiba's and JVC's are the harder ones to do
I use a Phillips myself as it is not only cheaper but has much more going for it than many of the higher end units. i throw anything at it and it just plays
The older the unit that harder it is to do the region free thing with.
I let my EX have the panasonic (big grin)
If you cant find a fix then look at the codes available for cheaper brands and how easy it is to do it before you purchase one.

Alot of programs, and hardware out their have hidden things in them that happen when you do something special. These things are called "Easter Eggs".
As for the "LG RC897T" I tried looking for some for you. I couldn't find any. All i could do is find many other people looking for the exact same thing.
If it is an Easter Egg your looking for,

ME: Does this product have any hidden Easter Eggs built into it.. You know like with some programs, if you do a certain thing, something special will happen on the screen? One of my old dvd players had a key sequence, along with open the tray in the correct oder allowed me to get a new screen to update the flex, does this dvd pplayer have any easter eggs? and if so what are they?
Neil: I am not certain to what you are referring, about updating "the flex". What is that?
ME: Flex, the Flex Version, basicaly the software on the dvd player.
Neil: I see. You are referring to the firmware version of the player.
ME: correct.
Neil: It sounds like you are referring to the technician's menu.
ME: I quess thats what its called, not sure.. but how would I bring tht up? are u allowed to tell me?
Neil: Yes, this player does have a technician's menu. We do not have access to this menu list.
ME: ok, ty for your time.. Do you know where I could get this information?
Neil: I do not. I apologize. Our technicians are the only ones who can access this menu, and that is performed in our service shop.
