These are router configuration items from the WAN button on the Home tab.

Does your DSL connection require a PPPoE login?

IF so check to see of auto-reconnect is enabled?

If not Enable auto-reconnect.

Bought a d514-4 port,router @ a yard sale with no CD

There's no need for any CD-ROM.

Use an Ethernet cable to connect your cable-modem (or DSL-modem) to the WAN port on the router.

Use another Ethernet cable to connect your computer to one of the 4 'LAN' ports on the router.

Restart your computer.
Click Start
Click Run
Type CMD
Press Enter
Type IPCONFIG
Press Enter
Look for output like: Default Gateway .... 123.456.1.1
Start Internet Explorer
Type http://123.456.1.1
Press Enter
Login to the router's web-site (try 'admin' & "blank"; try 'admin' & 'admin'; try "blank" & 'admin')
Run the router's "Wireless Networking Setup Wizard" to configure the wireless adapter.
Done.

Ran the setup wizard for the d link di 514 but still cant connect to internet

Do you have Internet connection before you installed the Dlink router? Do you have cable or DSL? If you have DSL make sure you have the username and password from your Internet service provider because you need to enter those information when you run the set up wizard. You need to connect your computer to the LAN port of the router. Turn off computer and router, turn on router first then turn on the computer. Run the set up wizard again.

I don't know how to connect my router. please help

If you have DSL or cable internet, disconnect the ethernet cable going from the DSL or cable internet modem to the computer. Disconnect the end of that cable that plugs into the modem. Connect an ethernet cable from your cable or DSL modem to the router where it says something like "modem", "internet", or "in". If the router is a wired router, connect the ethernet cable that is still attached to the computer to any open ethernet port on the router.

AT&T FastAccess DSL & D-Link not working for me

Yes D-link is compatible with DSL. What you need to do is call your ISP and have them bridge your DSL modem. Next you need to verify your username and password for your internet account. Next call d-link and have them help you change your router's setting to work with PPPoE connections.

Current dlink basic want to use dling DI 514

If you want to use your former router, you just have to connect the previous router in between your modem and computer. Try turning off all the devices (modem, router and computer) for 2 minutes. Then turn on the modem first, wait for the lights to be stable then turn on the router. When the router lights are okay that is the time that you can turn on the computer and check the internet connection.

If the Internet connection still has not come back, you will have to reconfigure it for Comcast connection. You can try using the setup CD or access the setup wizard using 192.168.0.1. User name is admin and leave the password empty then run the wizard.

I think wat ya need to do is completely set it all up again, right from the start.. I enclose a link for a manual & the other one is for the "Driver". http://www.retrevo.com/s/D-link-DI-514-Routers- review-manual/id/420ci364/t/1-2/ www.opendrivers.com/driver/232575/d-link-di-514- wireless-router-firmware-1.03-free-download.html Your "Provider" will have a different setup and address etc... indeed maybe they will have setup software and logon details on their web site, I suggest ya check that.
