How do I configure the OfficeConnect TP800

There is nothing to configure. Hubs simply spit a network connections almost like a TV cable splitter divides cable for separate rooms.

Hubs require a router that manages the network by providing IP and other network management tools.

Why only 254 computers are connected in one network for ex: to

If we use class c network (192.168.x.x) we can connect devices up to 254 because in class c network first three are network positions. last one is host position. (network posotions 192.168.x host postion is x last one) In class B network mean 172.16.100 we can connect more than 254 because in this network ips are 1-254 after 254 hundred we can change to 101.

Note: In class B network 2 network and 2 host positions. network positions are fixed. Host positions are changeable. so we can change. like that class a one network position and 3 host positions. (ex: in that 10 is fixed. remaining we can give as we like) but we cannot give 256 ip address to any client. because that calculations support up to 254 only

How do i access it from my laotop to make changes

The hub you've listed here cannot be managed. Hubs are non-intelligent devices. What changes did you want to make to a 4 port hub? Hubs are just used to physically connect network devices.

I need to design a net work for a company with 4 subnets and each subnet work have about 30 hosts. I've chosen a star topology for each sub network. what is the best centralized device should I...

You are going to want to use a switch. the reason you will want to use the switch is because of the different subnets that you will have and the hosts that you are going to have. You will have faster and more reliable connection. With a Router or a HUB the connection will get over worked and you will see the time it takes to do something is that much longer. Always use switches with more then 15 hosts

Intermec 9180 network controller RF suystem not communicating wit

The first thing I would suggest that you should do is that, try connecting to another host, or a laptop.

If it connects, then you might need to just change the network adapter of the host that is not connecting.

But if it still doesn't connect nor show any light, then try to check your network cable if it is faulty. You can just try connecting with another cable that you are sure that is working.

Kindly keep me posted about the problem.

Hope it helps.
Good luck.

Connecting campus wide networking to hub

Check the following:

Hardware First: Is Vista confirming LAN connection onn that PC, or is it showing disconnected cable?

Is the connection properties showing at least 100Mbps?
Are the RJ45 terminals okay?
Is the driver for the network card recognized by Vista and loaded?

If that is fine, then check the following in the network properties:

1. The IP address you are using
2. The gateway address: it must be the same as the gateway address in the other PCs accessing internet. Run and check
3. The Subnet mask. Use
4. HAve you Setup the Nework using the Setup Wizard, including Access INTERNET THROUGH A HUB THROUGH ANOTHER COMPUTER ON MY NETWORK?

Check those things and let us know. Ask for help from your network administrator about correct IP addresses on that LAN

3 com hub tp4 home network setup failure

There are several possible problems here, and more information is needed to identify which one is causing trouble. First, are you using a high speed dsl or cable internet connection? ...or is your Internet connection a dial-up phone line? This will have a significant effect on how your cables should be connected between the hub and the computers. Windows typically defaults to a 169... address when it is not properly connected to a shared network connection.
