I have a compaq presario cq50 notebook. everytime i try to start my laptop bootmanger is missing, what can i do to fix it

Use the Restoration Disk (CD), and perform a Repair. (Non-Destructive Installation)
A Repair just repairs the basic Windows files needed.
{Boot Manager is one of them}

[A Destructive Installation is just that.
It restores the computer back to Day 1, just like it came from the factory.

All personal data is wiped off.
Pictures, videos, music.
Any programs you have downloaded, or installed.
Any documents you have downloaded, or created ]

If you do not have the Restoration Disk;

In the USA the disk is free. The shipping and handling is not.
$17 for a 5 to 7a day ship, $24 for a 2 to 3 day ship.

On the back of the tower, or up on the side in a white Service Tag, is the Product Number.
(P/N)
Have it written down to give to the nice representative on the phone, at HP Support.
1-800-474-6836
7 days a week, 24 hours a day.

For all other countries here is HP Support,

How to save in acrobat .pdf ?

PDF (Acrobat) files are a great way to make sure documents are viewed with the correct layout and fonts - even when the recipients don't have the program you used to create the documents. It's also a format that is viewable across multiple platforms. In order to create a PDF file in Windows you need to be using Adobe Acrobat Distiller.
Open the file you want to make into a PDF.
Choose File, then Print.
Use the PDFwriter option when printing from a word-processing application: Choose PDFwriter from the Name pull-down menu in the Print dialog box. Fill in the document information, then click Save.
Use Acrobat Distiller option when printing from a page layout or design program: Choose Acrobat Distiller from the Name pull-down menu in the Print dialog box. Fill in the document information, then click Save.

Hi,
Open your MS Office 2007 document, look in the top left of the window for a large round button that glows, if you click on that all your print options are there.

Open attached files from e-mails

If all you are wanting to do is read or print the email attachments, and they have been written using Word 2003 or Excel 2003, you can go to Microsoft.com and download Word Viewer 2003 and Excel Viewer 2003. These two viewers will allow you to read or print either Word or Excel documents as long as the original composer used Word 2003 or Excel 2003, or some earlier version such as 2000 or XP. To the best of my knowledge, Microsoft has not released a viewer for any of its 2007 programs yet.

However, if you are wanting to compose new documents, or edit the attached documents, you will need to have a copy of the program in question.

There is also one other possibility. You can go to openoffice.org and download a free copy of Open Office. I am not sure if the Open Office Suite is 100% compatible with the Microsoft Office products, but it should be close enough to get you by.

One other thing, if you are receiving .pdf documents, you can go to Adobe.com and download the latest version of Adobe Reader. This is also a free download and will allow you to open, view and print the .pdf documents but, again, in order to edit them you will need a copy of Adobe Acrobat (not free) or some other compatible program such as Open Office (again there may be some slight compatibility issues to deal with).

Hope that helps - Graye
